Betty Dodd

1931 – 2019

Mrs. Betty Dodd of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Leonard Dodd, and loving mother to Darrell and Kevin (Linda) Dodd, passed away at Good Samaritan Society Park Meadows Village, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the age of 87 years. Cremation entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

KNIFE

ROSABELLE “ROSE” KNIFE “Iimoisskinaakii”, 54, passed away suddenly on May 21, 2019 . She is survived by her children: Keshia (Calvin) & Amber (Lane), brother George Knife, special friend Karen Young Pine; predeceased by her parents George Sr. & Isabel Knife.

A Wake Service will be at the White Calf Hall, Standoff on Friday, May 31st from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Saturday, June 1st, at 11:00 a.m.

Rev. Dr. Alex Lawson

1926 – 2019

The Reverend Dr. Alex Lawson, husband of Joy Lawson, passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC, surrounded by his family, on April 30, 2019, at the age of 93. A Celebration of Alex’s Life will be held at 2:00pm, on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.


Bruce Milliken
1927 – 2019

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert Bruce Milliken announce his passing in Taber, on Wednesday May 22, 2019, at the age of 91 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 – 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. A committal service will follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at http://www.southlandfuneral.com.
Bruce is survived by his four children Barbara (Tom) Kitagawa of Edmonton and their family Kristen (Ryan Sinclair), Jennifer and Robbie; Scott (Shirley) Milliken of Cranbrook, British Columbia and their family Drew (Barbie Skywalker), Dane (Hanna McIntyre) and Derek; David (Linda) Milliken of Layton, Utah and their family Brett (Callie), Heather (Brock) Robins, Cameron and Ryan; Nancy (Tim) Reamsbottom of Taber and their family Paige (Dave) Ofner and Cole (Chayia Koncz). He is also survived by ten great grandchildren Lucas, Vivian, Audrey and Samuel Milliken; Ethan and Paxton Robins; Quinn, Kade and Avery Sinclair and Reid Ofner. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Margaret Milliken of Brandon, Manitoba and by a niece and two nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Peter and Glen and sister Jean (Arnold) Graham.
Bruce was born in Brandon, Manitoba on October 12, 1927, the youngest of four children, to Mary and George Milliken. He met his beloved Mary Reid at church and they were married in Brandon on September 1, 1951. In 1953, Bruce and Mary moved to Lethbridge and in 1957, made their permanent home in Taber. Over the next four decades, Bruce serviced the agricultural industry in southern Alberta, supplying innovative equipment and developing lifelong friendships in the farming community. Bruce was best known for operating Milliken Farm Supplies. He lived a life of service through Taber Town Council, the Taber Curling Club, the United Church of Canada, Kiwanis Club, University of Lethbridge Senate and the Lethbridge Community Foundation. He was a strong supporter of 4-H. He had a great love of music and sang in the Knox United Church choir for over fifty years. He enjoyed traveling, bird watching and stamp and coin collecting. He worked hard to provide a good life for his family. A long life, well lived.

OLSON

It is with profound sadness that the family of JEFF OLSON announce his passing on Friday, May 24, 2019, at the age of 57 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Deb Olson and their son Wyatt; parents Don & Rosemarie Olson; and sister Lori Olson (Trever Miller) all of Lethbridge. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his mother-in-law Joan Friedman of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law Carol (Glenn) Getz and their children Kyle, Megan & Tanisha, all of Medicine Hat. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncle and cousins and many friends and co-workers who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Father Roque Pereira officiating.
