1929 – 2019

Mr. Lloyd Anderson of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Kathleen “Gill” Anderson, passed away at Fairmont Extendicare on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Funeral arrangements to be announced when completed.

Corny Biesbroek

1927 – 2019

Corny (Korstiaan) BIESBROEK of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Rita (Wevers), passed away peacefully on August 3, 2019, at the age of 92 years. Corny was born March 10th, 1927 in Hendrik -Ido- Ambacht, The Netherlands. After spending 3 years in the Royal Dutch Navy he immigrated to Canada in 1951 and in 1954 met the love of his life in Coaldale, Alberta. Corny began working at Ellison Milling in various capacities until he had a serious work-related accident in 1985. He also spent many nights after his regular job bartending for special events at Erickson’s Restaurant. Corny was always ready to give a helping hand to whoever needed it. He liked to pass the time playing cards, watching Stampede Wrestling and hockey. He was a faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Lethbridge. Corny enjoyed being with his family and was concerned about each and every one of them right up to his passing. Besides his loving wife of 64 years he is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Jeanette & Sid Sandstra, Gordon & Jo-Anne Biesbroek, Debbie Biesbroek, Pamela & Gerald Flim, Richard & Kathryn Sandstra (Teagan,Erica & Benjamin), Jennifer & Paul Houle (Selena, Xander, Aliyah & Evangeline), Cory & Kelsey Sandstra (Connor & Kearsten), Timothy Sandstra, Tara & Cody Lowry (Hannah & Matt Kaup, Annaliese, Abigail, Adeline & Thaddeus Kaup, Syliva Calver, Ryanne Calver), Matthew & Deneen Biesbroek, Stuart & Krystal Biesbroek (Lochlann & Kahleia), Tennille Biesbroek & Bryan McCallum, Reuben Flim, Joshua Flim and Lucas Flim. Corny was predeceased by an infant son Maurice; parents Cornelius & Geertruida; brother Bill; brothers-in-law Wim, Arie, Al & Leonard. Corny is also survived by his brother Kees; his sisters Jannie Lenie, Christine and Gerie. He will also be fondly remembered by the huge extended family. Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00pm and 9:00pm on Friday, August 16, 2019, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South Lethbridge, Alberta. A Celebration of Corny Biesbroek’s life will be held at 1:00pm, on Saturday August 17, 2019, at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011-4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Jim Zondervan officiating. A Private Family graveside service will be held prior at Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge, Alberta. Flowers are gratefully declined. 1986 – 2019

Mrs. Leslie Bjerland of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Mr. Chad Bjerland, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at the age of 33 years. Funeral arrangements to be announced when completed.

DYCK

1928 – 2019

Mrs. Susie (Voth) Mantler Dyck, beloved wife of the late Jacob H. Dyck passed on August 6, 2019 at Sunny South Lodge. Susie was the 2nd youngest of 8 children of Henry and Elizabeth Voth. She was born in Russia on Sept. 28, 1928. Susie immigrated to St. Johns, Canada on Apr. 4, 1930 when she was 18 months old. Susie married Abe Mantler on Nov. 3, 1946. She had 2 children, Bertha Mantler and Donald Mantler. In 1951 Abe Mantler passed away and Susie was left raising 2 children on her own. In 1957 Susie met and later married Jacob Henry Dyck. They had Jason Dyck to complete their family. Susie and Jacob were married for 58 years. Susie was the last survivor of her family. She was predeceased by Abe Mantler, son, Donald Mantler, and Jacob H. Dyck. Left to mourn are her children: Bertha (Dante) Ferraiuolo and Jason (Julie-Anne) Dyck. Grand children: Roxane (Dave) Fontaine, Marisa Ferraiuolo, D.J (Ryan) Murphy, Jared, Leighton and Grady Dyck. Also 3 great grand children, Brok and Quinn Fontaine and Rylan Murphy. A funeral service will be held at the Coaldale MB Church 2114 – 18th Street Coaldale on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019. Viewing will take place from 6 – 7 p.m. with a service following the viewing. Pastor Gary Burke officiating. Arrangements are taken care of by Evergreen Funeral Home. Cremation to follow with a private family burial at a later date. The family would like to thank Lindsey with Home Care Services who took amazing charge of Susie’s care, the staff at the Sunny South Lodge for their love and compassion and Dr. Steed MD during the time Susie resided there. In lieu of flowers please donate in Susie’s name to the Mennonite Central Committee of Alberta: 2946 32 St. N.E, Calgary, AB. T1Y 6J7

1955 – 2019

Marda Mandel of Lethbridge, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the age of 63 years. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 6:00pm and 8:00pm, on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, on Monday, August 12, 2019, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Kevin Roberts, officiating. Interment to follow in the Stirling Cemetery, Stirling, Alberta.
