1930 – 2019

Mr. Harold Cutforth of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Joanne Cutforth (Hubka), passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan West Highland Centre & Estates, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at the age of 89 years.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, on Monday, November 18, 2019, at the UNIVERSITY DRIVE ALLIANCE CHURCH, 55 Columbia Blvd West, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Brian Cool officiating.

Rachele Maria James,

beloved wife of the late Jack James, passed away in Taber on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the age of 85 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, November 18, 2019 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

Rachele is survived by her sons Kelly (Shauna) James of Lethbridge and their children Laeten and Talayna; Kevin James of Taber and his son Aiden; Lonny James of Taber and his children Austin, Craig and Jasmine. She is also survived by her brother Victor Cemulini; sister Gene Cemulini; brother-in-law Vince Leismeister as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband W.J. “Jack” James; infant son Terry Lee James; parents Gio Batta and Anna Cemulini; siblings Louis Cemulini, Angeline Cemulini, Eugene Cemulini, Delco Cemulini, Norma Dalton and Frank Cemulini; sisters-in-law Joyce Cemulini, Dorothy Leismeister and Willa Wright; brothers-in-law Allan Dalton and Ivan Wright.
Rachele was born December 2, 1933 in Taber to Gio Batta and Anna Cemulini. She was raised on the family farm until she married Jack James at St. Theodore’s Anglican Church in Taber on July 30, 1966. Together they raised their three sons on their family farm near Taber. Rachele worked alongside Jack on the family farm until their retirement in 2012. One of her greatest passions was her enormous garden and flower beds. In 2014 Rachele and Jack moved into Linden View Care Centre, where she has resided until the time of her passing. Rachele was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.

MARILYN GLENYS KOENEN of Picture Butte, passed away at the St. Michaels Care Home on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the age of 87 years.

Katherine (Katie) Mandel

1934 – 2019

Katie was born December 15, 1934 in Woolford, Alberta and passed away peacefully on November 15, 2019 at the age of 84 at the Chinook Regional Hospital.

After marrying the love of her life (Isaac) on June 17, 1959 together they had 6 children, Mike (Noreen) Mandel, Delilah (Dennis) Traber, Rita (Don) Fruson, Lennard (Susan) Mandel, Gloria (Sev) Habetler, Toby Mandel. They also had 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, which were her pride and joy. Katie also was known as a special Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren she leaves to mourn her sister Sara, and is predeceased by her beloved husband of 41 years Isaac Mandel, as well as her siblings; Annie, Susie, Maggie, Andrew, Bill, Mike, Eli, Peter, John and two infant sisters.

Family would like to Thank CRH Emergency Department staff, 4B staff, Keaton, along with Dr. Walton and Dr. Buck for the very special care they gave mom and kindness to family. Furthermore, thank you to the staff for making Legacy Lodge her “Home”.

Katie will be buried beside her beloved husband at a private country cemetery near Monarch.

DIETMAR HEINZ “HENRY” PAUL NOWAK, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge with his loving wife, Chiduko”Fay” (nee Tokuda) by his side, on Thursday November 14th, 2019, at the age of 81 years.

Henry is lovingly remembered by his wife Chiduko “Fay” (nee Tokuda); daughter Cathy Kortt (nee Nowak) (Rick) children: Robert, Melissa (Brandon); son David (Linda) children: Justin Ober (Kim), Sienna (Graydon); brother Fred (deceased) (Phoebe) daughter Kim; sister Alice (Kurt) Becker of Germany, other family members.

Henry Nowak was born in Goldap, Germany on January 17, 1938.

A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from.7:00 P.M To 8:00 P.M

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, on Thursday , November 21, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. With Reverend Dr. Bruce Martin, Henry will be laid to rest following the service at Mountain View Cemetery.
