Nov. 2, 1955 to Sept. 9, 2020

We sadly announce the sudden passing of Walter (Wally), beloved Son, Father and Grandfather. Walter is predeceased by his Father Walter Blackstock. He is survived by his mother Floy Blackstock, his son Joe Blackstock his grand daughters Julia Marie Blackstock and Ashley Marie Laroque, as well as his sister Linda (Dion) DesRosiers and brother Doug (Bev) Blackstock and his nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces. We will miss his infectious laugh and his bad jokes. May he rest in peace.

A private Family Graveside Service will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020 at 1:00pm, at the Stirling Memorial Cemetery.

FAORO

THOMAS “TOM” EDWARD FAORO of Pincher Creek, AB, passed away peacefully with his sons at his side at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the age of 60 years.

Tom is survived by his sons: Jason (Trista) Faoro of Edmonton and Tylor (Andrea) Faoro of Lethbridge and by his three adoring granddaughters: Evelyn, Arya, and Zara. He is also survived by his two sisters: Heather (Morley) Belle of Lethbridge and Rosalie (Alan) Neuberger of Burwash Landing, YK.

He was predeceased by his parents Gino & Sylvia Faoro of Pincher Creek.

Tom was a compassionate, thoughtful and endearing man and a beloved grandpa, father, brother, uncle and friend. His broad and witty sense of humour was with him until the very end. He never shied away from a good laugh. Tom inspired others by his sheer strength to survive and showed others how important it was to cherish life, and live it. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grand-daughters.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, kindly RSVP your attendance to Cornerstone. Seating will be limited to 90 guests. Facemasks are mandatory and will be available upon entry.

Joseph Mantello

1935 – 2020

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Joseph Mantello, on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Joseph passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.

A private funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, at St. Basil’s Catholic Church with Father Kevin Tumback officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

A mandatory face-covering and masking bylaw is now in effect in all public areas within the city of Lethbridge.

Rita Denise McEwen passed quietly on Sunday August 30, 2020 at age 78, in Lethbridge, Alberta where she was a long-term resident and a cherished member of the community.

George Mueller

1927 – 2020

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather GEORGE DEAN MUELLER, beloved husband of the late Doris Mueller and the late Selma Mueller. George passed away peacefully on September 10, 2020 at the age of 92 years.

George was born on October 30, 1927. He grew up on the family farm with his nine brothers and sisters. His first school years were spent at Kessler School then Wrentham. He married Doris Doren in 1953 and purchased the Conlon farm where they farmed and raised their three children. After Doris passed away in 1975, he married Selma Klaus in 1978. They retired to Lethbridge in 1986. George was a kind and generous man and a very active member of the community. He coached basketball and baseball and enjoyed curling for many years. He was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame for coaching the Wrentham girls to a provincial basketball championship. He was a lifetime member of the Elks.

George loved his family and friends and enjoyed his retirement in Lethbridge, particularly a visit to the local casino.

George is survived by his sons, Carson (Estelle) Mueller and Scott (Karen) Mueller; grandchildren, Nicole (Jim) Tarzwell, Ryan (Sammie) Racz, Brianne (Shaun) Hutchinson, and Dean, Drew, and Gregory Mueller; six great grandchildren; sisters, Irene (David dec.) Walker, Joyce (Andy dec.) Andreachuk, and Ruth (Laurie dec.) Belsher. He is also survived by Selma’s family; Sharon (Len) Kolpak and George (Jacquie) Klaus and their families, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his loving wives, George was predeceased by his daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Ron Racz, grandson, Tim Mueller; parents, Michael and Rosa Mueller; brothers, Oscar (Violet) Mueller, Lloyd (Dorothy) Mueller, Ken (Elda) Mueller, Ray (Vivian) Mueller, Rome (Kay/Leona) Mueller; sister, Grace (Fred) Nelson; and in-laws, Ray (Marlene) Doren, Stephanie (Art) Charlesworth and Blanche (Ron) Keith.

George loved the farm life with his whole heart and passed that passion on to his son Carson and grandson Tim. He will be deeply missed.

A private graveside service was held in Warner.
