It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of ELIZABETH “BETTE” ANNE BEST at the age of 88 years. Elizabeth passed away peacefully in her sleep after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis on January 7th.
She will be forever missed by her family: son Jamie (Denise) Harding and their children Marc (Shari), Lindsay (Bill) Scales and Ryan (Michelle), all of Lethbridge; son Morris (Jo) and their children Christopher (Jodie), Stephen and David (Hollie); daughter Liz (Shaun) and their children Carl (Amanda), Sarah (Geoff) and Craig; daughter Lindy (Julian) and their children Daniel, Emily, and Shona; and son Darren (Tina) and their children Thomas and Max, all of Sussex, England, as well as ten great-grandchildren.
She will also be missed by her many friends, especially Jack and Laverne Appleton.
Elizabeth was born in Grayshott, England, on August 23, 1932, and later in life, emigrated to Canada where she proudly became a member of the LDS church.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be happening once restrictions have been lifted and we can all be together.

Evan Evans
1927 – 2021
EVANS, Evan William from Lethbridge formerly of Nanton passed away at St Michael’s hospital on January 8, 2021 at the age of 93.
Evan is survived by his sons Norm and Gord Evans of Lethbridge; daughter Lorraine (Steve) Cross of Red Deer; four grandchildren David Evans of Lethbridge, Lyndsey (Jeff) Reimer of Okotoks, Aaron Evans and Cameron Evans of Lethbridge. Evan is also survived by sisters Iris Perrault and Louise Hogg; sister in laws Yvonne Evans and Eva Evans and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Evan was predeceased by his wife Dorothy; brothers Jim & Bob; sister Alwyn and daughter in law Debbie.
Evan worked for 13 years as Service Manager at McKay Brothers John Deere and then at Lethbridge College as a Agricultural Mechanic instructor for 15 years.
Evan loved to restore antique cars and tractors. He travelled many miles with Dorothy and the family in their 1937 Chev and his totally restored 1947 Desoto to car meets in Canada and the United States. He was a long time member of the Lethbridge antique car club and the Red Deer car club. Evan was one of the founding members of the Prairie Tractor Club at Picture Butte. He also owned and restored a 1931 Rumley tractor. While in Nanton he was a volunteer fireman and deputy fire chief. He was a life member of the Nanton Masonic Lodge.
Due to COVID there will be a private graveside service at the Nanton cemetery. If desired donations can be made to the local Alzheimer’s Society 1202 2 Ave So #40 Lethbridge T1J 0E3 403 329 3766.
