Louise Huber

1925 – 2021

LOUISE HUBER (nee Doering) Louise passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021 in Calgary, AB, at the age of 95 years.

She was born in Rosthern, Saskatchewan on March 18, 1925, Louise was raised in Rosthern and later moved to Duck Lake. She married her late husband, Fernie, in Rosthern on January 1, 1944. Together they had five children.

At a young age, Louise suffered a near fatal incident that resulted in her profound faith. She remained active in her church communities and volunteered in nursing homes until 2009. Louise moved to Calgary in 2011 to be closer to family and she continued to be active in her seniors’ residence while receiving long-term care.

An accomplished seamstress, Louise started her own business, Custom Design Draperies, after successfully completing college courses through Lethbridge Community College. For over twenty years she produced draperies for Lethbridge and District schools as well as private homes.

Louise always did her best to uplift people and encouraged them to find their strength. She led by example and, for those who truly knew her, she was a generous spirit with a great sense of humour and the loveliest smile.

Louise will be greatly missed and always remembered by her children Donna Connolly, Jannette (Al) Moen, Larry (Judy) Huber, Paulette Tremblay, Lorri Morice; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Besides her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Louise is survived by two sisters (Eva, Lillian) and one brother (Andy).

Louise was predeceased by her husband Fernie; son-in-law Don Connolly; six sisters and six brothers.

Louise’s family would like to sincerely thank the nursing staff at Brentwood Intercare in Calgary for their sensitive and compassionate care of their mother. Special thanks to Sonom, Crystal and Agnes, you are the heart of long-term care.

There will be no funeral in accordance with Louise’s wishes. In lieu of flowers and if you so choose, donations may be made to either Oral Roberts Ministries or 100 Huntley Street Ministries.

KINDT

STEPHEN WILLIE KINDT, much loved partner of Chelsie Breeze, passed away in his sleep on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the age of 42.

Besides his loving partner, Stephan is survived by his son Jagar, who he loved so much, his parents Monte and Kathy, his sisters Erin (Ross) Morrell, Mandy Kindt and his brother Jon (Brandy. He will very much be missed by his niece and nephews! He loved them all Big Time! He is also survived by a bunch of Court and Kindt Uncles and Aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother (David), his Court Grandparents and his Grandpa Kindt.

Friends are invited to meet the family on Friday Feb 26, 2021 from 7:00-8:00 pm at SALMON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 433 Stubb Ross Road South, Lethbridge. LIEBIG

MRS. LEONTINE “LENA” LIEBIG passed away peacefully at Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale, Alberta on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the age of 93 years.

Lena is survived by her two daughters: Beverly (Jim) Kemp and Louise (Doug) Scholpp as well as her grandchildren: Sheralyn (John) Pearce, Brian Kemp (fiancée Amelia Eggebrecht) and Christopher (Sholeh Rempel) Scholpp. Also left to cherish her memory is one great-grandchild Emmett Pearce and his little brother or sister to be born in August.

Lena was predeceased by her husband Christopher Liebig in 1985, parents David and Emilie Pomreinke and all of her siblings as well as all of her in-laws.

Mom will be dearly missed by those who knew her including the staff at Sunny South Lodge who took such excellent care of her during the past few years. They made her time there a happy one.

A private Graveside Service for the immediate family will be held in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Huibertje Adriana Mans

1927 – 2021

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Huibertje Adriana Mans of Picture Butte, beloved wife of the late Mr. Johannes Mans, passed away at Bethesda Care Home on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 94 years.

Huibertje was born in Rijswijk, the Netherlands, on January 2, 1927. Together with her family, she immigrated to Canada in 1982 and settled in Nobleford area where she and her family farmed until their retirement in 2014.

She is survived by her children Andries (Coby) Mans, Anneke van Ginkel (Henk), Arjan (Joanne) Mans, Joost (Caroline) Mans, Henk (Rita) Mans, Toos (Harry) Vandenberg, and Els (Ed) Van Hierden; 39 grandchildren; 74 great grandchildren; one brother, and 2 sisters.

Huibertje was predeceased in 2019 by her loving husband of 65 years; her sister, numerous brothers, and in laws.

Due to current health restrictions, a private family Graveside Service will be held at the Memorial Cemetery of Picture Butte.

A special thanks to the staff at the Bethesda Care Home for the loving and supportive care they gave to our mother.

SANDBERG

Judy Ann Wahlen Sandberg passed away at home peacefully in her sleep of kidney failure, surrounded by loving family members in West Jordan, Utah on 18 February 2021. She was 77 years of age, the beloved wife of Philip Sandberg, an amazing mother to 6 children with 5 wonderful spouses, the adoring grandmother to 23 grandchildren, and the grandest great-grandma to 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters on the way. The Sandberg family were long time residents of Coaldale, Alberta and owned Sandberg Laboratories Ltd. in Lethbridge for many years. Philip and Judy moved in recent years to be near family and grandchildren. Because of covid guidelines, a private funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Interment in the Herriman City Cemetery. Family and Friends are welcome to a celebration, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 2-3:30pm at Jenkins-Soffe, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway.

STANFORD

PATRICIA ALICE MATKIN STANFORD, our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 at the age of 93 1/2 in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Patricia was born on July 8th, 1927 in Nakusp, British Columbia to William Henry Matkin and Mary Alice Edith Kopp Matkin. She was the youngest of four children. She graduated with highest honors from the Holy Cross School of Nursing in Calgary. She married Paul Edward Stanford on June 10th, 1952 in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. Together they raised five daughters: Karen Frache, Mary Gale, Leslie Stanford, Barbara Bore, and Tracy Elmore. She is predeceased by her husband, Paul Stanford, her daughter, Karen Frache, and her grandson, Joel Stanford.

Our family would like to thank all of the wonderful people at The View and Homecare for the helpful and caring service you showed our mother. She loved all of her friends and caregivers there. We are so grateful to the staff on 3B at the Chinook Regional Hospital for the professional, thoughtful and compassionate care demonstrated to our mother and to our family. It was exceptional.

A Viewing will be held for family and friends on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston and a private Funeral service for family will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. The interment will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery in Calgary, AB.
