Judith “Judy” Aos

1943 – 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith (Judy) Aos. Judy passed away suddenly at Chinook Regional Hospital in the early morning hours of December 9th at the age of 78. Judy was born in Lethbridge to Paul and Katy Katanchik in 1943 and spent her entire life in Lethbridge. Judy worked for many years for A.G.T. and in September 1964, Judy married her husband Don and together they raised two children, Alecia and Donnie. After raising her family, Judy then spent a number of years working for the Lethbridge School District. An amazing mother and grandma, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren Sydney, Spencer, and Brady, and many hours were spent enjoying her grandkids sporting events, dance recitals, and school activities. Throughout her life, Judy also loved to bake and spend time camping with family. Judy was a generous and caring person who always put others first and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Judy is preceded in death by her father Paul, mother Katy, and sisters Sharon and Patricia (Pat). She is survived by her husband of 57 years Don, daughter Alecia (Lyle) Moore, son Donnie (Kim) Aos and grandchildren Sydney Aos, Spencer Aos, and Brady Moore. Extended family includes brother-in-law Alan Aos, and nephews Doug and Rick (Rhonda) along with grand nephews and niece, Zac, Alli, and Tyson.

MYSHRALL

ALVIN “AL” THOMAS MYSHRALL, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Monika, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7th, 2021 at the age of 83 years.

Along with his wife, he is lovingly remembered by his children, Gregory and Stephen Myshrall, Kirsten Smith, Lisa Millward (Pat LeClair) and Michael (Annie) Greeno; grandchildren, Ashleigh Smith, Blayne and Amanda Hoogerdijk and Abbygayle Greeno; great-grandchildren, Levi, Hunter and HD; brother Martin (Marie-Jean) Myshrall and sister, Joyce Kresconko.

Al was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Edna (nee McCarthy) Myshrall.

1954 – Douglas Peterson – 2021

Douglas Howard Peterson of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 at the age of 67 years. Doug leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Jennifer (Austin) Tondevold, Sarah (Travis) Bramble, Lori Jo (Gary) Schmidt; grandchildren, Rebekah Tondevold, Emily Tondevold, Tyler Tondevold, Ethan Tondevold, Dylan Tondevold, Samuel Tondevold, Joseph Schmidt, Mason Schmidt, Brianna Bramble; brothers, Jack (Marci) Peterson and Ron (Sherry) Peterson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his wife, Linda Peterson; parents, Howard and Eva Peterson. Madelyn Rozendaal

1963 ~ 2021

Madelyn Rozendaal, beloved wife of Jake Rozendaal, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the age of 57 years old.


SEVIGNY

It is with saddened hearts that the family of VICTORIA AGATHA SEVIGNY of Cold Lake, Alberta announces her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the age of 85 years.

Victoria was born on February 3, 1936 at Liebenthal, SK. to Joseph & Anna Wist. Victoria was the oldest of twelve children. Victoria will be forever remembered and loved by her nine children: Lucille (Bob) Boisvert, Mariann (Dwayne) Deibert, Raymond (Chris) Sevigny, Valerie (Wayne) Peterson, Wanda (Rick) Kleiss, Harvey (Karen) Sevigny, Douglas (Crystal) Sevigny, Susan (Blaine) McMillin and Lionel Sevigny; 22 grandchildren; 28 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Victoria is also lovingly remembered by her five sisters and two brothers.

Victoria is predeceased by her husband: Jean, parents: Joseph & Anna Wist; brother: Mike; sisters: Martina, Lavina & Elaine; grandson: Jared; daughter-in-law: Phyllis.

Jean & Victoria and their nine children lived on the Sevigny family farm, at Chauvin, AB. until 1974, when they moved to Grand Centre. When Jean retired in 1994, they moved to Taber, followed by their final move to Lethbridge. After Jean passed away in November of 2019, Victoria decided to move back to Cold Lake, where she resided at Points West Seniors Lodge.

Victoria loved camping, gardening, sewing, and babysitting. She loved to tell stories of her younger years growing up and taking care of her siblings.

A private Funeral Service was held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Our Lady of Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Cold Lake, AB.

Emily Thompson

1918 – 2021

I, Mrs. EMILY G. THOMPSON (born on May 9, 1918 in Oxford, Nova Scotia) passed away on December 3, 2021 at the age 103 years I left this earthly place but will continue to listen to my music (the “oldies”) but now with a heavenly touch. Music provided great joy to me and kept me feeling cheerful no matter what happened. I really enjoyed going out dancing and playing cards with my friends.

Many thanks to the staff at Sunrise Village during my 8 years there and to the staff at West Highlands Centre during the past 3 years and especially during my few last days. Everyone was fabulous. The attentive care during my last days has been appreciated. I especially want to thank Emma, who has been my helper and friend for many years.

My husband Ken predeceased me by 11 years. I am survived by my son Brent Thompson and his wife Lesley of Calgary and by my grandchildren Susan Padua, and her husband Rodel along with their son Rigel, and Mark Thompson, and his wife Heather along with their sons Rowan and Torno, all of Calgary except Torno who is in Vancouver.

At my request there will be no funeral service. Those who wish may make a donation to the Lethbridge Humane Society (www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com). I have owned many dogs during my life because they provide such great company and comfort.

Wayne Ulmer

1943 – 2021

Wayne Ulmer, peacefully passed away on December 8th, in the loving arms of his wife and daughters.

Wayne was the loving husband of Justina (Jo), and father of Tracey Opper (Oral), Tara Bouw (Wes), Larry Lunseth (Kerry McColm) and Les Lunseth (Laurie). Wayne was the brother of Wendy Spivak (Dave), Rod Ulmer and Barry Ulmer. Wayne was the uncle and great uncle to Lee Lunseth, Landon Lunseth and son Evan, Adam Lunseth, wife Beth and children Audrey and Charles, Erin Pichurski, husband Chris and children Eddie and Willow-Anne, Laurel Borysuk, husband Trevor and children Gray and Tristan, and Briea Turner, husband Jaime and daughter Charlotte. Wayne is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Walt and Bunny (Ruth) Ulmer, and sister-in-law Carol Ulmer.

Dad was born on March 13, 1943 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Dad met the love of his life, Jo, in Bow Island one evening in early spring 1964 on his way to a dance. It was love at first sight and they got engaged that same year on mom’s birthday, September 11. Mom and Dad were married on January 15th, 1965 and welcomed their first daughter, Tracey, later that same year and their second daughter Tara 4 years later. Dad’s heart was full of joy with his girls and from then on, the grey hair started. Dad was like a big brother and friend to Les and Larry whom he loved very much. To dad, we were all one big happy family that he cherished.

Dad went to Olds College and worked for both the Alberta Government and the County of Warner for many years. Dad was an avid curler and golfer and member of Land O Lakes Golf Course.

Over the years, dad loved to go hunting wild birds, fishing, reading and spending time with his family and friends.

We know dad is already out golfing and will be enjoying a glass of red wine with his pizza!

At dad’s request, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of dad’s life will be held at a later date for the immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that you please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Wayne’s name.

Laura Margaret Vanderhart

1997 – 2021

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Ms. Laura Margaret Vanderhart of Lethbridge, Alberta who passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the age of 24 years.

Laura was born on February 7, 1997 and at the age of 3 ½ months, she contracted encephalitis. Her life was with many afflictions and illness but with it she brought much joy and happiness to those who loved her.

She is survived by her loving parents Mark and Barbara Vanderhart; 5 siblings; Philip (Doreen) Vanderhart and their children Cole, Mark, Lauren; Eric (Michelle) Vanderhart, and their children Taylor, Katelyn; Mason Vanderhart; Jonathan (Gerda) Vanderhart and their children Zachary, Naomi, Avery; Thomas (Hanna Bezooyen) Vanderhart and his daughter Haiden; Chad (Rochelle) Ruppert.

Laura is survived by grandparents Adrian (Corrie) Vanderhart as well as many other loving family members and was predeceased by her grandparents Herb and Margaret Debat.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Harilal, also all doctors and caregivers, Bethesda Care Home, and lastly Chinook Home from Rehoboth, where she presided from 2015 – 2021.
