A Wake Service will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Thursday April 7, 2022, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 5th Ave, Fort Macleod, AB.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 5th Ave, Fort Macleod, AB. followed by a Graveside Service at One Spot Cemetery in Old Agency .

The family of HENRY JOHN DICK of Lethbridge sadly announce Henry’s peaceful passing at Legacy Lodge on Sunday, March 20, 2022, with his beloved Leona at his side and wrapped in the love of his family.

The final celebration of Henry’s life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Ryan Dueck officiating. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed via Henry’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Brent Gies

1963 – 2022

WO (ret’d) Brent Albert Gies of Lethbridge, AB passed suddenly at home on March 30, 2022 at the age of 58.

Born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on June 25, 1963 the 8th of 10 children (5th son) to Francis and Agnes (McCrystal) Gies of Congress, Saskatchewan. Brent attended school in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan until 1980 when he signed up to become a member of the Canadian Military. In 1983 he married Lori Lavalle and in 2003 he became a Dad to his greatest joy in life, his son Luka Gies.

During his long military career he served with 1 & 3 RCHA, 4AD & 40th Field Regt, a proud Gunner to the end! Brent was posted to Germany with tours of duty in Cypress, returning to Canada in 1987 and moving from coast to coast their final move within Canada was to Lethbridge where he believed was his families forever home. After one last tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2006, Brent longed to just be Dad, so retirement came a few years later. After the passing of his wife in 2014, Brent and Luka became inseparable, enjoying trips to see family in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, a trip to Cuba and Brent’s happy place…..Congress, Saskatchewan to his childhood home

He was a passionate man about life family and friends. His one true love in this world was and always will be his son Luka. His face lit up and he swelled with pride when he spoke of his Bubba.

Brent will be forever loved and missed by his son Luka Gies; sisters Joyce (Glen) Eisnor of Edmonton AB, Darlene Hargrave of Sexsmith AB, Fay (Greg) Tymchak of Vegreville AB; brothers Wayne (Grace) Gies of Middle Lake SK, Jerry Gies of Pincher Creek AB, Francis Gies of Assiniboia SK, Brian Gies of Saskatoon SK. Sister in law Marlene Gies of Kipling SK; 17 nieces/nephews; 36 great nieces/nephews and 1 great great nephew Matt/Birgit Lavallee (Braydon, Emily) Wendy/Pat Hogan, Michelle/Randy Woods.

He is predeceased by his wife Lori; parents Francis and Agnes (McCrystal) Gies; siblings Ralph Gies 2009, Bonnie Lindsay 2015; brother in law Craig Lindsay 2013 and nephew Cory Gies in 2008.

Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will take place.

Jack Helle

1946 – 2022

Mr. Jack Paul Helle of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Mary Ann Helle, passed away in his home, with his wife by his side on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the age of 75 years.

Besides his loving wife Maryann of 53 years, Jack is survived by his daughter Yvonne (Russ) Trechka; sons Shaun Helle, Christopher (Christine) Helle; daughter-in-law Christy; 8 grandchildren; 8 great- grandchildren; siblings Jacqueline Pedrini, Loretta (Bob) Lafleur, Denise (Pat) Macdonald, Dean (Char) Helle; Sylvianne (Tim) Schwartzenberger and best friend Bob (Kathy) Ferguson.

Jack was pre-deceased by his parents Paul and Suzanne Helle of Drumheller.

As per Jack’s wishes, there will be no service. A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at a later date.

Miss Kathryn Betty Hoyt of Lethbridge, beloved mother, grandmother and dear friend to so many, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of 62 years.

Agnes Angeline Zubach

Agnes passed away peacefully February 3, 2022 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife of 55+ years, to Nick and loving mother of two daughters Lisa Zubach and Tracy MacDonald, a son Jeff (Robin) Zubach, loving grandmother of Quinn, Ally, Brock, Olivia and Devon. Agnes was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Rose Dierker, her brothers Richard and Edwin, and her sister Margaret.

A funeral Mass at St. Andrews Catholic Church will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11 am at St. Andrew’s Church (330-1 St S Vulcan) with inurnment in Vulcan Cemetery Columbarium.
