ARIZONO

Mitsuko “Mitsi” Arizono formerly of Coalhurst, beloved wife of the late Masao Arizono passed away at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton on Thursday May 13, 2021 at the age of 98 years.

Mitsi is survived by her 3 children, Irene Revilla of Hawaii, Wendy (Allan) Bridges of Edmonton, Alberta and Gene Arizono of Lethbridge, Alberta; sisters Satoye Kita of Richmond, BC, and Pat (Jim) Kawabata of Washington, USA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

A Memorial Service will be held for Mitsi on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home with Reverend Izumi officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.

CONRAD

Eleanor Emily Conrad (née Kesler), of Fort Macleod, passed away on Saturday, May 28th at the age of 75 years.

She is survived by her children: Vicky (Thomas) McCormack of Simi Valley, California, Gordy (Leslie) Conrad of Victoria, BC, Marty (Darice) Conrad of Lethbridge, AB, Jerry (Michelle) Conrad of Lethbridge, AB, Brookee (Matthew) Bullock of Lethbridge, AB, Becky Gouchie of Fort Macleod, AB, and AJ (Katie) Conrad of Burbank, California. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.

Eleanor is also survived by her brother: Norman (Karen) Kesler, brother: Gordon (Joyce) Kesler, sister: Trudie Fyfe, brother-in-law: Blair (Gail) Conrad, sister-in-law: Cheryl (Gordon) MacKay, sister-in-law: Laurie (Bob) Muir, and sister-in-law: Iris Conrad.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her son-in-law Jason Gouchie, and her beloved husband of 58 years Robert Conrad.

Eleanor was raised in New Dayton and Raymond. She moved to the farm in Fort Macleod with her sweetheart Bob in 1966. There they raised their seven children and lived for 54 years together, with Eleanor remaining there after Bob’s death. Eleanor loved to travel, especially to Glacier National Park, where she enjoyed camping, hiking, and relaxing on the shores of Lake McDonald. She was a lifelong Disney fan and took many opportunities to visit Disneyland throughout her life. Christmas was a special time to her, and she found joy in hosting family gatherings and decorating lavishly. Her family and friends looked forward to her delicious Christmas candy each year. Service was a central part of her life, including volunteering with the scouts, ensuring family and guests in her home were comfortable and well-fed, and serving in the temple and other church callings. She touched many lives with her caring heart. Eleanor was fiercely independent, stubborn, kind, and a trusted confidant for family and friends. Among all of her accomplishments, she was proudest of her seven children.

Interment will take place at Archmount Cemetery in Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, June 4th at 9:30am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fort Macleod, AB.

HEPPLER

ROBERT (BOB) CHARLES HEPPLER, beloved husband and father passed away peacefully on April 23, 2022 in Raymond, Alberta at the age of 86 years.

Robert is survived by his wife Hazel, four children Wendy (John) Stuckart, Noreen (Brad) Ellis, Debbie (Mitch) Chilton and Keith (Adena) Heppler as well as his sister, Elaine Doram, his ten grandchildren: Michael Stuckart, Kayla Stuckart, Emma Covenden, Caleb Ronan, Dalton Ronan, Taylor Chilton, Baylee Schmidt, Dylan Heppler, Holden Heppler, Zachary Heppler and also three great-grandchildren Jade, Ava and Hazel Stuckart.

Robert was born on January 5, 1936 to John and Mary Heppler. He was the oldest sibling to Elaine Doram and Glenn Heppler (deceased). Robert lived his entire life in Warner, where he loved farming, hunting, camping and being an active member of the community.

A Service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on June 4th at 1:00 p.m. at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2825 32nd Street South, Lethbridge, AB. A private family graveside gathering will follow.

The family of Robert Heppler would like to thank the staff at Raymond Hospital and Prairie Ridge Lodge for the wonderful care he was given.

Dick Hudson

1929 – 2022

  Arnold Albert Hudson, beloved husband of the late Mae Hudson, passed away in Taber on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the age of 92 years.

  Dick is survived by his daughter Cindy (David) Varga of Taber, son Clifford (Carol) Hudson of Kitscoty; grandchildren Courtney (Trevor) Daniels and family, Blaine Varga, Paige (Anthony) Smith and family, Thomas (Kelly) Hudson and family, Jeffery ( MacKayla) Hudson and family.

  He was predeceased by his wife Mae Hudson, son Chance Hudson and daughter Diana Hudson.

  Dick and Mae were married October 10, 1957.  They started farming and raised their family in the Purple Springs area.  Their home commonly referred to as The Hudson Hacienda, was known as a coffee stop and meeting place for musical gatherings. Dick and Mae enjoyed many years of traveling visiting sixty eight countries, took in five cruises taking in five of the seven continents. He loved farming their irrigation and dryland, raising Charolais cattle while working thirty four campaign’s as a shift chemist at Roger Sugar Factory. Dick enjoyed pistol club, Grassy Lake 4 H Beef club and music which was probably his favorite. He played the saxophone, guitar, banjo, violin and was ready for every get together with friends, family and The Oilers for a jam session.

  After selling the farm, they retried in Taber and had the best neighbors that you could ask for when adjusting to town life. His last years were spent at Clearview Lodge, where Dick called home for the last seven years. We are so grateful for the wonderful and caring staff.

MCTAGGART

December 16, 1952 – May 24, 2022

Dennis Easton McTaggart, beloved husband of Theresa McTaggart of Milk River, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the Milk River Health Centre, with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the age of 69 years.

Besides his loving wife Theresa, he is also mourned by his three children: Layne (Cary-Anne) McTaggart, Lindsey (Joel) Hougen, and Lee (Kristi) McTaggart. Dennis treasured and adored his five grandchildren: Jordan and Eddie (Layne), Carter (Lindsey) and Aubree and McKenna (Lee).

Dennis is also survived by his siblings: Gloria (Chuck) Whipple, Ted (Mary) McTaggart, Tim (Bev) McTaggart and Peggy (Myron) Demkiw and their families, as well as Theresa’s siblings and families.

A lover of many sports, Dennis always followed and supported his children through their many sporting activities and continued this tradition by watching his two oldest grandsons Jordan and Carter as they participated in their sports. We are certain he will continue being all his grandchildren’s #1 fan from above.

Throughout the years, Dennis developed many life-long cherished friendships. We sincerely thank all these special friends and family members who supported Dennis throughout his life.

Words can never express how grateful we are for the medical team that supported and cared for Dennis from the day of his diagnoses until his passing. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Margaret McTaggart and his in-laws Herb and Clara Garber.

Honouring Dennis’s wishes there will not be a formal funeral service, we will gather on June 12 at Gold Springs Campground for a casual come and go BBQ to share stories and memories of Dennis with his family and friends. Please RSVP to dennismctaggartrsvp@outlook.com if you would like to attend.
