Dorin Berlando

1930 – 2022

Mr. Dorin Berlando of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Helen Berlando, passed away at St. Therese Villa, on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the age of 92 years.

Dorin was born and raised in Coalhurst and after moving to the Drumheller Valley in the 1940’s he met his sweetheart and wife to be, Helen. They have just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary and spent their entire wedded lives in Lethbridge where they raised two sons Richard and David. Throughout his life, Dorin was very active in the community, sitting on the boards of many service organizations and city committees. He had a very successful career working his way up to become President of Oliver Industrial Supply until he retired in 1994. Dorin and Helen loved golfing at the Lethbridge Country Club, travelling on many overseas trips and camping in their motorhome.

Besides his loving wife Helen, Dorin is survived by his two sons Richard (Trudy) and David (Nancy) and their families; 6 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, and sister Joy (Vic Breau) Berlando. Dorin was predeceased by his parents Roy and Inez Berlando.

The family are deeply grateful to those at St Therese Villa and Lethbridge Homecare for the support provided to Dorin.

Emma Budarin

1929 – 2022

Mrs. Emma Budarin nee Schulz, born on March 30, 1929 left us peacefully at Fort Macleod Exendicare on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the age of 93 years.

Emma was born in the Ukraine and immigrated to Coaldale, Alberta in 1950. She lived in Calgary for 24 years and finally retired in Lethbridge in 1980 where she was an active member of her church and community.

She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and fun- loving nature. She will be forever missed by those who knew and loved her.

Besides her loving husband Alexander (2000), Emma was pre-deceased by her son Walter (2018).

Emma is survived by her son Alex (Gail) Budarin; daughter Liz (Ron) Moring; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. MASAKO (MIYASHIRO)

Born in Raymond, Alberta on Dec. 22, 1926 and passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Dec. 28, 2020.

Verna Koskewich

1940 – 2022

Mrs. Verna Koskewich of Lethbridge passed away in the arms of her loving daughters at the Chinook Regional Hospital on June 29, 2022 following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Verna grew up in Del Bonita on the farm of her parents, Ernie and Violet Hillmer, fostering a love of farming that continued with her marriage to George Koskewich in 1957.

She worked hard alongside our father and took great pride in their purebred cattle business Northridge Braunvieh. Being a farm wife and raising three children kept her busy but she enjoyed every minute of it. In her later years she travelled throughout the western U.S. and Canada.

Verna is survived by her two daughters: Dianne (Ken) Mertz and Judy Westcott; daughter-in-law Sherri Koskewich; four grandchildren: Amanda (Cody) Michaelis, Ben Koskewich, Cliff (Jana), and Sam Westcott; two step grandchildren: Tara (Andy) Hubbard and Tawni (Myles) Parkinson; nine great grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Dalton and Dorothy Tomlinson; sister-in-law Vicki Sommerfeldt; six nephews and numerous cousins.

Besides her parents Ernie and Violet Hillmer, Verna was predeceased by George (2005), eldest child Byron (2021), in-laws John and Lena Koskewich, four brother-in-laws, one sister-in-law, and one nephew.

A Celebration of Verna’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011 4 Ave S, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Taylor Croissant officiating.

A private family Interment will be held prior in the Magrath Cemetery, Magrath, Alberta.

PARENTEAU

EDWARD “EDDY” PARENTEAU, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Paulette Parenteau, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary AB, on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the age of 82 years.

Marion Sandeski

1950 – 2022

Mrs. Marion Sandeski of Lethbridge, peacefully passed away in her home at the age of 72 on July 1, 2022. She was born in Midale, Saskatchewan, on February 20, 1950 to parents Harold and Helen Lund.

Marion was preceded by her father and mother, Harold and Helen; sister Mary; and brother David.

She was survived by her beloved husband, Mr. Dan Sandeski. They married April 20, 1985, celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary this year. Marion was also survived by her daughters, Carrie (Junior), and Tabitha, and son Adam. Along with her grandchildren; Senaya, Samara, Kasen, Justin (Ashleigh), Christopher, and Lillian; grandchildren Beccam and Zachiah; and siblings Peter (Jean), Irene, Jane, and John. Along with her 3 grand kittens Bella, Vader, and Charlie.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
