Mas retired in 2014. During retirement, he continued playing golf and began bowling. He enjoyed watching and keeping up with the latest news in golf, baseball, and sumo. Mas also loved to travel and visited many places with his wife.

Cheryl was very fortunate to have a wonderful extended family and circle of friends that loved her dearly. Her niece Sharon Nason was not only family, but also her best friend. She was an extremely caring mother and spouse, doting over her family, shepherding them along and taking pride in their many accomplishments over the years. Prior to moving to Taber in 1998, Cheryl had a career as a jeweller, before transitioning to establishing a private company with her husband at which she worked until her passing. She loved spending time travelling between her home, Fernie, British Columbia and Vancouver Island, British Columbia where she revelled in visiting with family and friends and enjoying retirement.

Some of Cheryl’s fondest memories occurred as a child with her parents Evelyn and Richard in Waterton Lakes National Park and later with her own family at places such as Island Lake Lodge, Butchart Gardens, Lake Koocanusa and Robert’s Bay in Sydney, British Columbia. On Cheryl’s wishes, the family will hold a small and private celebration of life at these locations in the near future and in the coming months.
