BARTEL, Gordon

BARTEL GORDON BARTEL, of Lethbridge, loving husband of Bethany Bartel, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Chinook Regional Hospital, at the age of 36 years.

Growing up, Gordon enjoyed many sports, motorcycle trips with friends and family, along with a strong love for music with guitar and lots of singing with family. Gordon joyously passed on his love of these activities to his young children.
Gordon was always strong academically and aspired to become an accountant from an early age. While working toward this goal, the Lord spared his life after a serious car accident in 2007. After obtaining his Management Degree from the University of Lethbridge in 2009, he moved to Red Deer to begin articling at BDO. Gordon earned his Chartered Accountant designation shortly after in 2013, and later worked as the Financial Controller at Varsteel in Lethbridge from 2015 until his passing. Gordon and Bethany had settled into their home in Lethbridge originally built by Gordon’s father, where they completed their family of six, and were raising their children together.
Besides his loving wife Bethany, he is survived by his four young children, Joshua (7), Tyler (5), Leah (2) and Dylan (6 mos.); his mother Leona Bartel of Lethbridge, siblings Ryan (Jenessa) Bartel of Lethbridge and their children Brayden, Kayleigh, and Regan; Kelly (Brook) Burick of Swan River, and their daughter Raya; and Tracy (Daniel) Hargraves of Saskatoon; grandparents Edward E. and Katherine Bartel of Lethbridge, as well as in-laws Will and Margarete Klassen, siblings in-law Emily Klassen, and Matthew (Trudy) Naugler Klassen and their sons Aaron and Jesse, all of Vancouver. We will always remember Gordon as a patient, selfless, reliable, thoughtful, and loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.
