Ron Henry

1984 – 2022

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our son and brother, Ronald Charles Henry. Ron passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Powell River, British Columbia on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the age of 38 years.

The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 – 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. A private burial will follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at http://www.southlandfuneral.com [1].

Ron is survived by his mother June Henry of Taber; brother Robert “Bob” (Victoria) Henry of Calgary and their daughters Sophia and Seraphina (Sarah) as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father Joel Henry; grandparents Ronald and Marjorie Henry, Charles and Doreen Harrison.

Ron was born March 30, 1984 in Lethbridge. He cried and fussed lots as a baby. His dad discovered that holding him close while rocking in the chair and listening to classical music calmed Ron almost immediately. As soon as Ron was able to crawl, he became very busy, his curiosity knew no bounds. Ron had a special bond with his brother Bob who was born nineteen months after Ron. As Ron grew, he remained curious and very active. He was involved in hockey and soccer, even trying his hand in his own musical band with friends. Ron also loved fishing, camping and family vacations. In his twenties, Ron made Powell River his home. He stayed constantly curious, especially about religion. Ron had a teddy bear heart, a wicked sense of humour and a little crooked grin you couldn’t help but love. Our family won’t be the same without him.

Heaven has gained another angel.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Ron’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 426 – 6 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 2C9 (http://www.cmha.ca [2]).

Arrangements in care of Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber. Telephone:
