NIBLOCK, Brent NIBLOCK Brent Niblock of Cornwall, ON passed away at home on January 12th, 2023 at the age of 62.
Brent is survived by his mother, Mabel (McFadden) Stirling of Milk River, AB, his wife Dawn and his sons Dustin and Nathan, all of Ontario.
Brent held many positions in his short life, but owning and operating a market garden in Kingston, ON was the one he loved most.
His journeys brought him to Alberta more than once to visit his mother and she was able to go visit him on several occasions.
A graveside burial will be held in Ontario in the spring. Flowers are gratefully declined.

A Wake Service will be held at Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 7:00 – 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Stand Off, AB.

VASELENAK, Helen HELEN VASELENAK 1928 – 2023 Mrs. Helen Vaselenak of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Mr. John Vaselenak, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the age of 94 years.

WHITE, Bernice BERNICE WHITE 1923 – 2023 It is with great sadness we announce that Mrs. Bernice Elaine White of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. John “Jack” White, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritans Park Meadows on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the age of 99 years.
Bernice was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and did her schooling there. She met the love of her life Jack, who was in the Reserves. They married in Saskatoon on February 1, 1946, then moved to Lethbridge where they went on to have their beloved son Garry.
She had many interests, but was most popular for her delicious baking, which she did win some awards for. Her garden was also filled with prize winning roses. She had a great love for Pomeranians and had a special home for them over the years.
She volunteered for Hobby World as well as the symphony. She excelled and loved the twenty-three years she worked as a secretary at LCI.
She will be missed by her family and also leaves behind some very special friends. We will remember her with love and a smile as she would want us to.
Bernice is survived by her daughter in law, Helen; grandson Greg; great grandchildren Michel and Zachery; niece Bonnie (Doug) Reuben and Levon; nephew Murray (Brenda) and great nieces and nephews.
Besides her beloved husband Jack, she was predeceased by her son Garry and her brother Earl.

YANKE, Katherine YANKE KATHERINE JUNE YANKE, beloved wife of the late Elmer Yanke, passed away peacefully at Fairmont Extendicare on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the age of 87 years.

SHEPHERD, Muriel MURIEL JEAN SHEPHERD 1929 – 2023 Muriel Jean Shepherd was born August 9, 1929, in Portage La Prairie, MB to parents Evelyn and Douglas Yuill, crossing over to their welcoming arms on January 13, 2023.
She is survived by her children, Robin Ingram, Kevin (Dixie) Ingram, Rory (Shelley) Ingram, Sean (Linda) Ingram, Sandy (Mernie) Russell and Erin (Robert) White; fourteen grandchildren Robyn (Liam) Hicks, Rhena (Bernie) Failing, Ryan Clubb, Angela (Joshua) Blanchard, Coleman (Andrea) Ingram, Holly Ingram (Evan), Benn (Lilia) Ingram, Ashley (Tyler) Conley, Hannah Ingram, Emily and Carly Russell, Michael (Felicia) White, Seamus (Teale) White, Seanade (Riley) Kirchner, Liam (Kate) White. These wonderful people gave her twenty-two great grands, who lovingly called her GG: Maeb, Gwyn, Brooklyn (Kash), Reese, Ben, Alley, Danni, Galilee, Josh, Freya, Willow, Alex, Vlad, Morgan, Carter, Mack, Dominic, Lexi, Alaina, Charlee, Evelyn, and Brianna. Muriel is also survived by her only brother Allan (Joan) Yuill, and two dear sisters Beth Money and Susan (Bill) Roll as well as Charlie’s daughters Rhonda (Randy) Terri (Rus) and their family.
She is predeceased by her beloved parents, her lifelong friend and beloved husband Charlie, her sister Marion, her beloved daughters, Jill and April and her much loved son-in-law Dwight, as well as Garnet Ingram and John Russell.
From the moment, at age sixteen when Muriel first put a foot on Alberta soil, she was a proud and devoted resident especially cherishing the Crowsnest Pass where she and infant Robin came in 1946 to join Garnet in Frank. She lived in the Pass until 1983 when she moved to Lethbridge to marry Charlie.
They enjoyed flying, motor biking and travelling to numerous faraway places. In 2010 they moved to Martha’s House and retirement. After Jill’s passing in 2014, she spent a short time in St. Albert, but the call of the mountains was too great and in 2015 she moved to Whispering Winds in Pincher Creek and then to Vista Village in 2020 until her passing.
Always a people person, Muriel loved life and never had an issue making new friends wherever she called home. A writer since she clutched her first pencil, she wrote weekly columns for two newspapers, had various things published and was a diary keeper for over forty years as well as a knitter since the age of six. She felt her greatest accomplishment was her exceptional family and the struggles they shared to survive as a family. She is also remembered by many relatives from her marriages and friends going back to childhood.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who gave Muriel such amazing care.
Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Riverview Chapel.

HANSEN, Cheryl HANSEN, Cheryl Lynn (nee Henderson) Feb. 2, 1971- Dec. 24, 2022 It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of a mother, daughter, and friend.
Cheryl was born in Calgary and was adopted as an infant by Jean and Zandy Henderson of Lethbridge. She grew up with her parents and sisters and many beloved pets. She studied Travel and Tourism, and as an adult became the first person in her family to obtain a post-secondary education when she graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work; a profession that she was extremely proud of and passionate about. She enjoyed travelling, making and eating delicious food, going to the movies, museums, and spending time with her kids. She was loved by many that came into contact with her, and always had a funny quip, sarcastic remark, or a kind word at the ready. She encouraged and uplifted many of her friends, coworkers, and clients.
Cheryl is survived by her three children: Kassandra Miehe (nee Ward) of Nova Scotia, Shane Hansen of Lethbridge, and Jenelle Hansen of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her parents, birth parents, sisters, brother, and nieces/ nephews. She will be missed and remembered by countless friends as a light to those she knew.
Cheryl was passionate about many projects, but she especially felt connected to charities and assistance provided for abused women and families. NEIL, Shawn SHAWN NEIL 1958 – 2023 Michael Shawn Neil of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Penny Neil and loving father to Bristal Neil, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the age of 64 years. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his friends and family.
