Dan was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on August 10, 1961. He grew up on the family farm in Picture Butte until the age of 12 when the family moved to Lethbridge. Dan attended Wilson Jr. High and then Winston Churchill High School where he graduated. Along the way, Dan made many friends, many of which he kept until this day.
Dan had a love for music and science fiction. You would often hear the sound of his favourite albums coming from his stereo or out of his Mustang, rocking and rolling with his friends. He worked in retail management most of his working life, starting at Woolworths, moving on to Woodwards and then transferring with Woodwards to Calgary, Eaton’s, and then went on to manage various Big and Tall men’s wear stores. Dan moved back to Lethbridge in 2007 and worked for Safeway, and then Sobey’s. He loved his visits with his nieces and nephews, holding the title of Uncle Daniel D. and laughing all the way home thinking about the chaos.
Dans love for music made him quite the collector. He had a fantastic collection of LP’s, CD’s, DVD’s, books, Star Trek memorabilia and other collectables which were all organized in perfect order.
Besides his loving mother Christa, Daniel is survived by his sister Roxane (Gord) Davies; niece Tia (Brad) Yates; nephew Kevin Davies (Crystal Vuong); brother Bill (Michelle) Burch; nieces Ciara (Kyle) McNamara, Carissa Burch, Kiana Burch (Colton Gouw); nephew Billy Burch (Sydney Aos); as well as great niece Blakelynn McNamara and great nephews Bryson McNamara and Casen Gouw.
