ROTH, Loretta Loretta Anne Roth July 25, 1943 – Feb. 8, 2023 Loretta Roth of Ladysmith, British Columbia, passed away on February 8, 2023.
Loretta was born to the late Jacob and Mary Roth, the eldest of five children and was raised on the family farm in Southern Alberta. Loretta lived in many places including California and Vancouver Island but was particularly drawn to the Peace Country in Northern Alberta.
Loretta worked as an LPN for 25 years north of Grande Prairie for Central Peace Hospital in Spirit River and Fairview General Hospital.
Loretta had a love for music, gardening, crafting, and reading. She cared for all animals big and small which included one wee dog named Amigo.
Loretta is survived by her children; Angela (Larry) Scriba of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Michael Viani of Parksville, B.C., Elizabeth (David) Viani of Red Deer, Alberta, and Catherine Viani of Maple Ridge, B.C. Also surviving Loretta are her four grandchildren Cory, Lacey, Samantha, Anthony; her great grand children Larissa, Porter, Waylon, Dylan, Carmen & Ivy; Loretta’s siblings Alice (Brion) Upton of Edmonton, Alberta, Marilyn (Tom) Yacishyn of Osoyoos, B.C., Tony (Sophie) Roth of Lethbridge, Alberta and Rita (her partner Rick) Wilkins of Nanaimo, B.C., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by both parents, father Jacob Roth in 2005 and mother Mary in 1978.
Appreciation and a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Swamy. At Loretta’s request there will be no funeral service. If desired, memorial donations may be directed to the SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society.
LEVENNE, Ken LEVENNE Ken James Levenne of Fort Macleod, AB, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 20th, 2023.
Ken leaves behind his wife Linda, son Jordan (Brittany) Levenne, Clint (Meredith) Van Der Aa, grandchildren Hannah, Sadie, Christopher, Carson, his mother Norma Levenne, and siblings Scott (Dawn) Levenne, Perry-Lynn (Darris) Sturtevant as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his father Dewayne and brother Terry.
Ken expressed no service or gathering, but only to enjoy a large black Tim Hortons coffee in memory of him.

MCNAMARA, Jacqueline JACQUELINE (JACKIE) MCNAMARA 1945 – 2023 Jacqueline (Jackie) McNamara of Lethbridge AB, beloved wife of Larry McNamara, passed away suddenly on February 24th at the age of 77 years.

POCZA, Roy ROY POCZA 1944 – 2023 Mr. Roy Pocza of Lethbridge, beloved partner of the late Gwen Willimont, passed away peacefully with family by his side, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Monday, February 27, 2023, at the age of 78 years.
Roy was born in the old Galt Hospital and raised in Lethbridge. He fondly looked back on his days spent on the family farm which was located on the area now famously known as “the Sugar Bowl”. Roy followed in his father’s footsteps, spending 38 years in the automotive business. His work in parts, service, sales and management cultivated many cherished long-time clients and friendships. He worked for Beny Chev Olds, Davis Pontiac and the McDonald Auto Group. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to share the experiences of hunting, fishing, camping and golfing with his family and friends. He especially loved his time at the Pocza Hideout (lakelot) at Duck Lake, Montana. Roy also had a passion for gardening and his beautiful yard was always impressive.
Roy is survived by his two sons Jason (Kelly), their children Leni & Finn; Ryan and his daughter Isla; stepchildren Billy Baum (Michaela) their kids Chloe and Cooper; Tara Baum and her kids Katie, Max and Allie. Also left to mourn, his brother Grant and his daughter Whitney; Roy’s very special friend Trudy Thys and his canine companion Lucy.
Besides his loving partner Gwen, Roy is pre-deceased by his parents Chester & Elizabeth Pocza; sister Barbara (Tom) Ayerhart; nephew Allan Wiebe and survived by their family, son Carlin (Susan) Ayerhart, their children Lily and Lemmy and daughter Tracey Wiebe.

DUNSMORE, Daryl DARYL DUNSMORE 1949 – 2023 Daryl Dunsmore of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Karen, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the age of 73 years.
Daryl was born in Brooks, Alberta, on March 23, 1949, the middle of 7 children born to Sandy and Jessie Dunsmore. He spent his childhood in Scandia and Vauxhall, and married Karen in 1973. Born and raised in Southern Alberta, he spent the majority of his career working in the oilfield.
Daryl enjoyed slo-pitch and hockey in his younger years, where he earned the nickname “Smoky” – a name he was known as by many friends and family. Later in life, he also continued to enjoy curling and golf.
Daryl was a loving father, and his grandchildren were the absolute light of his life. He was always quick with a smile and a joke or two, and his easy-going personality had him loved by many.
Besides his loving wife, Karen, Daryl is survived by his two daughters, Alyson Dunsmore, and Melissa (David) Russell; granddaughter Emily Russell and grandson Gavin Russell; three sisters Sharon Bailey, Darlene (Glen) Birney, and Linda Dunsmore; one brother Jack (Marie) Dunsmore; brother-in-law Elmer Cook; sister-in-law Sandy (Glenn) Becker; sister-in-law Kim (Carey) Sulz; sister-in-law Shelley Barnard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Daryl was predeceased by his parents Sandy and Jessie Dunsmore, his in-laws Dennis and Connie Wilford, grandson Aiden Russell, brother Jim Dunsmore, sister Sandra Cook, brother-in-law Bill Bailey, niece Kerrie Dunsmore and nephew Robert Bailey.

HECK, Margaret HECK MARGARET VIOLET HECK, of Lethbridge and formerly of Hays, beloved wife of the late Carl “Bud” Heck, passed away peacefully at the St. Therese Villa, comforted by the presence of her family on Monday, January 30, 2023 at the age of 93 years.
Margaret is survived by her children: Fay (Les), Linda (Ross), Robert (Rose), Dennis (Lorraine) and Tom, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Barbara (Bryan) Watts, Verna McDowell and Sharon (Ike) Fehr as well as several nieces and nephews.
