BIER, Andreas Andreas Erich Bier April 7, 1943 – September 27, 2023 Born in Graz Austria 1943. During the war and many hardships for his Mom and little Erich. His family eventually immigrated to Canada, via boat and train to the wonders of sugar beets.
He left school at 8 years old to work in the beets and worked at something everyday of his life. While in a dementia unit he worked tirelessly at “escaping”.
Married Marge while a young 18 year old in the Army Infantry. When Marge was expecting, the army could not give him the married man amount of 120 a month, as he was considered a “boy”, and 60 was not enough with a baby coming. He was honourably discharged. Marge and Erich went on to have 2 more children. He leaves Christopher, Andy, and Debby to mourn his passing.
Erich was always a dreamer and couldn’t stay in one place long. Eventually he and Marge split up and Erich met and married Maggie. They had a good life. Erich was busy as a locksmith. He designed and produced a floor and wall safe. He ran for the Reform Party and was a federal candidate. He was very well liked and respected. He had a heart attack and had to change life style, not uncommon for Erich. He had completed his high school diploma and went on to get a real estate license. Earlier in his life he had sold real estate and so it was a good fit. It was working in real estate, he met the love of his life and partner in all adventures and hair brained ideas. Donna and her 3 children. Married for 30 years and the list of accomplishments is without boundaries. Restaurants. Businesses. Auctioneer. 6 children’s books, all in print. Land developer, and the list goes on. They were unstoppable when they both got an idea. In the last few years Erich was diagnosed with dementia. It took its toll on both him and Donna.
He went into care and after suffering a fall and catastrophic brain injury he passed. He leaves his 3 children. Christopher (Laurie), Andy (Linda) Deborah (Edward. Deceased). Also Donna’s children, Robert, David and Jessica. 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The world will be a little quieter without him.
Cremation entrusted to Zentner Funeral Home.
