ONTKEAN, Lorne ONTKEAN It is with great sadness that we announce that Lorne Michael Ontkean passed away on September 18, 2023 at the age of 75 years old, surrounded by family and friends.
Lorne was born to the farm life on Dec 8, 1947 near Lethbridge, AB. He moved to Calgary for work, toured Europe and eventually settled down in Penticton, BC. He worked as a Psychiatric nurse for the Penticton Regional Hospital until retirement.
From the Highlands of Lakeshore, the Brooks of Willow and the Mesa of Sage, Lorne loved the Okanagan and the sun and beaches were where much of his family time was spent. He loved to play rugby, read sci-fi, play golf, watch hockey and enjoyed the company of 10 Stinky Men. After retirement, he spent a number of winters near La Manzanilla, Mexico where he was often found slinging a beer.
Lorne will be lovingly remembered by his children Jerran (Lori), Cameron (Mareike) and Katey (Gordon). Grandfather to Owen, Aria, Neva and Mila, and Granddogfather to Remy, Luna, Lynx, Frances and Conroy. Brother to Bernie, Charlene, Barry and Gerald and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lorne will be missed by everyone who knew him.

MCCLOY, Louise Louise McCloy
1940 – 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Louise McCloy (Née Hunter), announce the passing of their mother following a brief illness, in Taber on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

She is survived by her loving family, her three children Mark (Heather) McCloy of Lethbridge, Joanne McCloy of Taber and Colleen (Grant) Hawes of Medicine Hat; grandchildren Tyler, Ashley, Megan, Kennedy and her great grandchildren Colton, Ava, Parker, Chloe and Remy. Louise is also survived by her brother Ken (Jeanne) Hunter, sisters-in-law Patti Dodds, Colleen McCloy and Jean Bostock; brother-in-law Bob Brucker; Ron’s family Ron Jr., Teri, Sharla and their families and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Jack McCloy, her partner Ron Lloyd, parents Lawrence and Gladys Hunter, Jack’s parents Bill and Bella McCloy, sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Gord Hill, sister-in-law Sheila Brucker and brother-in-law Ian Bostock.
Louise was born in Fillmore, Saskatchewan in her grandparent’s home, on January 9, 1940. She grew up on the family farm in Corning, Saskatchewan. After graduating from high school, she moved to Saskatoon to attend business college. While attending college, Louise met Jack McCloy and they were wed in 1959. They lived several places in Saskatchewan, then moved to Calgary before settling in Taber in 1975. She worked at the ATB for twenty nine years.
Louise was an avid golfer, spending her summers out at Indian Hill Golf Club and in the winter months you could find her at the Taber Curling Rink. After Jack’s passing, she was lucky enough to find love again with Ron Lloyd. They spent the next ten years travelling together, spending their time between summers in Taber and winters in Welton, Arizona.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Louise’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Taber Health Centre for their kindness and care during Louise’s last days.

COTE, Bonnie COTE It is with heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of BONNIE NELL-MARIE COTE, of Diamond City, beloved wife of the late Richard Cote, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the age of 68 years.
Bonnie is survived by her four sons: Christopher (Charity) and their children: Laura, Riley, Hope, Bowen, Mytchel and Gage; Daniel (Shannon) and their children: Jayme, Trinda, Keeton and Kalis; Jonathan (Marla) and their children: Paisley, Keira and Hayden; and Andrew (Jilana) and their children: Kohen and Emmett; brother Warren (Susan); and sisters: Jeannie (Harold) and Linda (Denise); along with 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her loving husband Richard of 40 years, she was predeceased by her parents June and Daniel McEwen; father and mother in-law Leo and Velma Cote; and son Jeffery.
Bonnie was born and raised in Lethbridge. She spent her childhood growing up in the community of Hardieville. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1972. After high school, she graduated in 1979 with a Medical Radiation Technologist certificate. She spent the early years of her career at Campbell Clinic. She then transitioned her career over to the Chinook Regional Hospital, where she became the lead tech for the Mammography department and retired from there many years later.
Richard and Bonnie purchased land in Diamond City, where they raised their boys. Bonnie enjoyed every minute spent on her farm. In her early years on the farm, she enjoyed having school groups come and visit her “funny farm”. She had a true love for horses; barrel racing was one of her favourite activities to take part in. She adored every minute spent with her grandchildren. Her favourite pastime was spent drinking coffee and enjoying her coulee view off the deck.
Bonnie touched many lives and will be missed greatly by all. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of the emergency department at Chinook Regional Hospital.
A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held at the SANDMAN SIGNATURE HOTEL, 320 Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating. The Celebration of Life will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Bonnie’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
Bonnie will be laid to rest in a private Family Graveside Service at Royal View Cemetery.

DODDRIDGE, Heather DODDRIDGE It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, HEATHER ANNE DODDRIDGE, of Lethbridge, at the Chinook Regional Hospital surrounded by family, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the age of 80 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Adele Votary (Paul) and Stephan Doddridge (Joy); grandsons: Kyle, Russell, Kaden, and Stephen; granddaughters: Anna, Chloe, and Eunice; great-grandchildren: Tay-Lynn and Lilly; and her loving brother, Robert Sanders (Lucy); as well as many extended family and friends. Heather will also be dearly remembered by the many friends she made at St. Therese Villa in Lethbridge.
Heather was predeceased by her father Robert Sanders and mother Nellie Kirby.
Her life was a balance between raising her children as a single mother and building a career at the Lethbridge Research Center for 27 years. Once she retired, she enjoyed her days playing crib, gardening, making delicious foods, while sharing laughter and time with loved ones.
A special thank you to the compassionate healthcare professionals of Chinook Regional Hospital and St. Therese Villa.
To honour Heather’s last wishes, there will be no funeral service.
If family and friends so desire, in Heather’s memory and in honour of her lifelong battle with MS, memorial contributions may be made to the MS Society (mscanada.ca) in lieu of flowers.

MCCALLUM, Robert MCCALLUM Robert Thomas McCallum passed away in Lethbridge, Alberta, on the 21st day of September, 2023, at the age of 81 years.
Robert is survived by his children Robbie, Kathy, Jen, and Patricia. As well as eight grandchildren.
Bob was a true horseman and real cowboy.
Bob loved to play his musical instruments and went to jam sessions with his friends on the weekends. Bob also loved to travel.
Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
