HOUGEN, Marvin

MARVIN HOUGEN 1929 – 2023 Mr. Marvin Hougen of Foremost, beloved husband of Mrs. Pauline Hougen (nee Karl), passed away at the Bow Island Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the age of 94 years.
Besides his loving wife, Pauline of 67 years, Marvin is survived by his sister Myrtle Allison of Lethbridge; sisters-in-law Dolores (Charlie), Delores (Arne), and Isabella (Magnus); as well as numerous special nieces and nephews.
Marvin was predeceased by his mother Esther and father Charles; son Lorn; brothers Palmer, Engwald (Steva), Tryve (Peggy), Magnus, Arne and Charlie; nephew Larry; and brother-in-law Stu Allison.
Marvin and Pauline spent many winter months in Arizona enjoying the sunshine and always attending the National Rodeo Finals in Vegas. He enjoyed farm life and truly loved the land as shown in his gardening. Many hours were spent in his garden, growing the largest watermelons, strawberries, and pumpkins.
His generosity was second to none. Marvin’s humor and story telling will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Foremost Community Hall.

Carol Lynn Antoniuk (née Shimbashi), beloved wife of Brad Antoniuk, passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the age of 59 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Saturday, October 14, 2023 between 9:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M.

Besides her beloved husband Brad, Carol is survived by their children Ryan (Lindsey) Antoniuk of Oswego, Illinois and their children Tanner, Brylee, Grayson, Camden and Emmett; Joshua (Marci) Antoniuk of Taber and their children Adam, Miles and Alaya; Carlynn (Todd) Bullock of Lethbridge and their children Parker, Tatum and Brock. She is also survived by her parents Pat and Dianne Shimbashi; siblings George (Kim) Shimbashi, Dave (Alicia) Shimbashi, Jacqui (Dale) Nielsen, Cassandra (Jeff) Den Hollander and Chris (Beth) Shimbashi and their families.
Carol was born September 11, 1964 in Taber to Pat and Dianne Shimbashi. She met her high school sweetheart Brad at the age of sixteen. After one year of University in Calgary she married Brad on September 8, 1984. They moved to Brooks where they were blessed with their first son Ryan. Twenty one months later they were blessed with their second son Joshua. From there they moved to Fox Creek and Cochrane while Brad worked in the oil and gas industry. They then moved back to Taber in 1991. In 1992 they were blessed with a daughter Carlynn. They have continued to reside in Taber until the time of Carol’s passing.
Carol was very active in her children’s activities. The boys played baseball, soccer and hockey and Carlynn in dance. Carol was very talented with her hands, she could knit, crochet, sew and create almost anything and make it look fantastic. She was a talented cook known for her perogies and buns. Carol was active in her church serving in many callings, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

BLOOD WILFRED BLOOD, of the Blood Reserve, beloved husband of the late Martina Blood, passed away peacefully at Cardston Auxiliary Hospital surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the age of 81 years.
A Wake will be held at OLD AGENCY HALL, Blood Reserve, AB, on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 7:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at OLD AGENCY HALL, Blood Reserve, AB, on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Rocky Brave Rock officiating.
Following the Funeral Service, Wilfred will be laid to rest in One Spot Cemetery.
