By Lethbridge Herald Obituaries on October 18, 2023.

BAYLY, Edward EDWARD ERNEST BAYLY 1937 – 2023 Edward Bayly passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the age of 86 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Linda; daughter Sandra (Keith) Aiken and their children Keith Aiken Jr., Merrill (Tom) Darrah, and Maggie Aiken; daughter Susan Bayly (James Veronelly); and daughter Joanne (Jack) Van Tryp and their daughter Olivia. Ed will also be sorely missed by his brothers- and sisters-in-law Vaughn Palmer, Vicky (Randy) Wolsey, Shelley Olsen and several nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Frances Bayly, his sister Patricia Finigan, in-laws Merrill and Winona Palmer, and great-niece Jessica Stewart.
Ed was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England on August 27, 1937 and immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1951. Ed and Linda married in 1970 and started their family. Ed was quickly outnumbered by the girls in his household but immediately and continually demonstrated how women should be treated with respect, love and equality.
A man of Faith, Ed was pleased to serve in many positions and accept callings from his LDS community. His gentle and generous spirit was apparent in all the service he had the opportunity to provide.
A talented artist, actor, playwright and designer, Ed was involved in almost all of the Lethbridge Musical Theatre and Playgoers productions over the span of many decades. He was the manager of the Yates Memorial Theatre for over 30 years and was a constant presence both on stage and behind the scenes in Lethbridge’s theatre and arts community.
While Ed always enjoyed nature and the outdoors, he had a particular passion for fishing – especially after his retirement from the Yates. He loved to golf with his friends and traveled to many exciting places with Linda and his family. Ed had a special affinity for all animals, had several long-time furry companions and would welcome any strays he happened to meet along the way.
Beyond Ed’s impact and involvement in the community, he was a shining example of what a husband, father, and friend should be. His kindness, humour, dignity and grace will be remembered by all those who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints West Highlands, 560 Highlands Blvd. West, Lethbridge on Saturday October 21, 2023 at 11:00 am for viewing, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm.
A private burial service will be held at Temple Hill Cemetery in Raymond following the funeral service.
