Mom was born in Lekkerkerk, the Netherlands on January 26, 1932, to Cornelis and Jannigje Slingerland, and immigrated to Canada, together with her family, in 1952. It was a happy and exciting moment for her last year when Jeff flew the plane over the Care Home and “waved” to her. The many visits from her grandchildren were also always very special to Mom.
She will be remembered with love by her children: Kathy (Matt) Jakober, Casey, Jenny (Anthony) Vanden Hoek, Joanne (Roy) Van Driesten, Corrie Davidson, Cor and friend Edith, Judy (Art) Arends, John (Juanita), Jake (Margaret), Joyce (Andre) Van Weverwyk, Marilyn (Jan) VanderMeer, and Brenda (Wout) van Luik; sixty-one grandchildren and fifty-eight great grandchildren.
