BRANTNER, Lloyd Lloyd Brantner
1935 – 2023
Lloyd Christian Brantner, beloved husband of Beryl Brantner, passed away in Taber on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the age of 88 years.
Lloyd was a third generation, lifelong Wrentham resident. His grandfather homesteaded in Wrentham in the early 1900s. He is the last one of the four farming brothers (Charles, Jerry and Ted) and they leave their sister Barbara (George Virginillo) to carry on and hold dear the love of the land.
Lloyd met his future wife Beryl West, at the mid summer bonspiel in Nelson. They were married in October of 1965 and slowly built up their farmstead. Their two children, Kelly of London, United Kingdom and Tom of Wrentham, were raised on the farm. They have two grandchildren, Richard and Sarah (Isaak) and their two older brothers Mitchell (Kristin), Owen and Brynlee Binding of Edmonton and Sydney (Kesha), Griffin Binding of Weyburn Saskatchewan. He is also survived by his three sisters-in-law who were the best ‘hired hands’ his brothers could have had – Carol, Judy and Donna, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd had loved the farm life and felt it was the best place in the world to raise a family. He was involved in many projects in the community over the years and was so proud of the little place he called home.
Lloyd will be privately remembered by his family and friends. He asked that he be remembered as ‘doing something’ or gladly giving his opinion. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at http://www.southlandfuneral.com.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Lloyd’s name may be made directly to the Wrentham Fire Department, Box 128, Wrentham, Alberta T0K 2P0 or to the Wrentham Library, Box 111, Wrentham, Alberta T0K 2P0.
His family wishes to express their thanks to the people who have kept him on this side of the grass for over eighty eight years. Latterly, Dr. Zielke and the wonderful support team at heart function clinic and Dr. Torrie, Steph and the staff at Coulee Medical. Most of all, heartfelt thanks to the responders who came quickly when called and were so professional and kind. There are no words that can truly say what we feel to the nursing staff at the Taber Hospital who helped him on the final journey; Julia and girls, you are our angels.
Arrangements in care of Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber. Telephone: (403) 223-8778.
