SLOBODA, Pheona PHEONA SLOBODA 1945 – 2023 Well mom, today (Oct 27, 2023) you finally did it. You escaped from here as quietly unassuming as you lived. Who would have guessed that you Pheona Sloboda (nee Kuehn) would have snuck out of the Milk River Health Care Center as simply as you did? “See you tomorrow” you said; little did we know you were referring to Grama Dorothy (nee Woitte), Grampa Wes (Kuehn) and Uncle Harold (Kuehn)!
Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering Pheona at 11:00 am, Tuesday November 7, 2023, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610, 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta. To watch the service via livestream, please visit https://www.mbfunerals.com/obituary/Pheona-Sloboda and scroll to the bottom of the obituary page to find the link.
In Lieu of flowers, we ask that you hug your family extra tight and remind them you love them every day, because you never know when it will be the last time!

MOUSER, Ross MOUSER Our shepherd is laid to rest. (Stanley) Ross Mouser a lifelong resident of Claresholm passed peacefully on Monday 30 October 2023 at the age of 90. For all but a few of those years he lived and worked on the Salmon-Mouser farm, shepherding it to an Alberta Century Farm Award in 2007 for 100 years of continuous family operation. He served and/or lead the boards of several organizations including the Canadian Cooperative Woolgrowers, The Canadian Sheep Breeders Association, The Alberta Sheep and Wool Commission, and the Sheep Committee of the Calgary Stampede.
Ross’ abundant moustache made him easily recognizable whether he was on the streets of Claresholm, judging livestock at a major event like the Royal Winter Fair, or attending activities related to Freemasonry. His commitment as a leader and volunteer earned him recognition that included being a Life Member of the Calgary Stampede and many masonic honours. Until his later years Ross remained active as a leader in many masonic organizations across the province including holding chairs in the Scottish Rite, Royal Arch, Royal Order of Scotland, and the Chinook Arch District.
Ross is survived by his loving wife Marilyn (nee Murdoch); sons Scott (Danette) and Doug (Julia); grandchildren Lauren, William, Shayla and Angus; sister Joyce (Maurice) Coughlin, and brother Allan (Betty) Mouser. Ross is predeceased by his sister Joan Honecker and brother Jim Mouser.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Zentner Funeral Homes – 4079 1st Street West – Claresholm, Ab at 11:00 A.M.
Please send donations to Claresholm and District Health Foundation, an organization that helped Ross rediscover the joy of a bike ride so late in life.

LAMB, Letha LETHA (JOHNSON) LAMB Letha Johnson Lamb passed away peacefully at Magrath, Alberta on October 31, 2023 at the age of 99. She was predeceased by her husband Reed Dalton Lamb. Letha is survived by her 5 children: Marilyn (Dennis) Dahl, Wayne (Wendy) Lamb, Wendy (Thomas) Deppe, Sheryl (Richard) Joice, and Bruce (Margo) Lamb. She will be lovingly and warmly remembered by her 14 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
Letha was born in Barnwell, Alberta on November 13, 1923 to Leith and Myrtle (Jensen) Johnson. She was the fourth of eleven children and had a happy upbringing. She worked hard to help the family navigate farm life in the 1920’s and through the depression.
She married the love of her life, Reed Lamb, on December 28,1945, upon his discharge from the RCAF at the conclusion of WWII. They then moved to Edmonton where Letha worked and Reed attended Dental School at the University of Alberta. Their oldest daughter, Marilyn, was born in Edmonton. The remainder of the children were born in Taber, Alberta. Reed and Letha moved to Lethbridge in 1960 where they finished raising their family. Letha worked side by side with Reed at the dental office over the years. Upon retirement, Reed and Letha served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church and gospel of Jesus Christ was always central throughout Letha’s life. Shortly after Reed’s passing in 2006 Letha moved from the family home and relocated to West Lethbridge where she lived for 10 years. Her final years were spent in Magrath, Alberta until her passing.
Letha was very talented at sewing, knitting, quilting and crocheting. It was always a thrill when it was your turn to get a new warm quilt. Her famous sugar cookies and treats were loved by all. She truly made her house a home and a place everyone loved to be. Her legendary Grandma Lamb Christmas Eve parties and games created wonderful family bonds and memories. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She was keenly aware of every grandchild and great grandchild. Letha truly exemplified the traits of integrity, honour, character, charity, and having her priorities in the right place.
