HAWKES, Yvonne “Bonnie”

HAWKES Yvonne ‘Bonnie’ Harris Hawkes received a merciful release from debilitating pain and illness on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
She joins immediate family (husband Keith and children Glen, Candice and Douglas) who predeceased her, as well as a host of beloved family and friends she was anxious to see again. She lived a remarkable life and died firm in the faith and hope of a glorious resurrection through her Saviour Jesus Christ.
Her surviving children, Wendie Low, Laurie Low, Jeanan Shaw and Josh Hawkes and their families invite you to a celebration of her life and faith at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meeting house at 27 Cobblestone Lane in Raymond, Alberta.

PLAITED HAIR Eric Dennis Plaited Hair passed away on May 16, 2024 in Stand Off, Alberta at the age of 67 years.
A Family service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Thursday May 23 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. A Wake service will be held at Old Agency Hall, Blood Reserve on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will also be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Saturday, May 25 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the One Spot Cemetery, Blood Reserve.

BARTEL, Edward

BARTEL EDWARD BARTEL SR., of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Katherine Bartel, passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the age of 91 years.
Besides his loving wife Katherine of 68 years, he will be greatly missed by his children: Doris (Don), Ed (d.) (Leona), Darlene (Cornell), Arnie (Bonnie), Don (Donna); 14 grandchildren and their spouses; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son Ed, grandson Gordon, great-grandson Nixon, parents and four siblings.
A Viewing will be held at COALDALE MENNONITE BRETHREN CHURCH, 2114 – 18 Street, Coaldale, AB, on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 12:00 Noon, with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Gary Burke officiating.
Following the Funeral Service, a private Family Interment will be held in the Coaldale Mennonite Cemetery.

HUNT, Annabelle “Anne”

ANNABELLE HUNT 1959 – 2024 Annabelle (Anne) Hunt of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Thomas Chief Calf, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 64 years.
Anne was born in Magrath Alberta on August 23, 1959, to Bernice Hunt and the late Alex Hunt Jr. Anne and her siblings were raised on the family farm in the Whoop-up district on the Blood Reserve.
Anne is survived by her loving husband Thomas Chief Calf; three sons Waylon James (Chantelle), Jeremy Lance, and Joshua Thomas; mother Bernice Hunt; aunt Phyllis (Fred) Bull Calf; siblings Andrew, Cheryl, Ada (Pete), Clarence, Edward, Arlene, and Sandra (Stoney); nieces, Andrea (Jamison), Savanah; nephews, Adam, Andrew Jr, Aaron, Jason, David (Nikki), Matthew, Luke, Chad, and Samuel; great nieces, Lakeisha, Hayley, Sierra, Arianna, Grace and Aurora; and great nephews, Malachi, Brody, Roman, Johnny, Jude, and Sullivan.
She was predeceased by her son Matthew Thomas Chief Calf; Ida Joyce Hunt; father Alex Hunt Jr; aunt Claudia; uncle Keith (Sonny) Red Crow; grandparents Sam Red Crow and George and Emma First Rider; loved ones Willie Hunt Sr. (Margaret), Willie Hunt Jr., Wilma Hunt, Lloyd Chief Calf, Patrick Hunt, Nora Hunt, Clara Hunt, Darlene Hunt, and Albin Bull Calf. We apologize to anyone we missed.
We would like to thank Dr Malpica, Dr Lachmea, the medical staff at the Emergency Unit, the Nursing staff in 3A, and the Indigenous Hospital Liaisons at the Chinook Regional Hospital.
A Wake Service will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday May, 23, 2024 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta. The Wake service will continue at the First Nations Fellowship Christian Church near Cardston.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday May 24, 2024, at the FIRST NATIONS FELLOWSHIP CHRISTIAN CHURCH.
Anne will be laid to rest next to her father on the Hunt Family plot.
