As with most sports, the COVID-19 pandemic has cut short a promising season for the Lethbridge Volleyball Club U18 Junior Kodiaks.

The Junior Kodiaks would have been competing for provincial gold this past weekend, but the the provincials were cancelled.

The Junior Kodiaks are made up of players who compete against each other during the high school season but come together for the LVC club season every year. Many of the players have competed together for five seasons, starting as 13- and 14-year olds.

Last season the Junior Kodiaks captured silver at provincials and would have been a top-four seed in Pool A this year as they were positioned to compete for a provincial title.

The success of their high school and club volleyball programs has led to several players landing post-secondary offers while several others are still considering their college/university futures.

Those who have already signed to play post-secondary volleyball include: Tanner Folden, LCI, ACAC Lethbridge College Kodiaks; Eric Godwin, LCI, USPORT University of Calgary; Nathan Hall, Immanuel Christian, USPORT University of Fraser Valley; Matthew Hamilton, LCI, USPORT Thompson Rivers University; David Kindley, LCI, USPORT University of Waterloo; and Zachary Lobdell, Brant Christian, USPORT Mount Royal University.
