The Lethbridge Hurricanes looked poised for a pair of points, but instead they’ll settle for one.

The Canes fell to the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 in overtime in Western Hockey League play Saturday night in Calgary.

The Hurricanes led 3-1 with a little over five minutes to go, but the Hitmen rallied for a pair of goals in the final 5:29 before Calgary’s Tyson Galloway scored his second goal of the night 38 seconds into overtime to complete the comeback and stun Lethbridge and drop them to 3-3-1-0.

The Hitmen are also 3-3-1-0 with the win as the teams complete their three-game series Sunday at the Enmax Centre at 6 p.m. The Hurricanes won the first game of the weekend 3-1 Friday night in Lethbridge.

On Saturday night, Josh Prokop paced the Hitmen to a 1-0 lead 3:32 into the game before newest Hurricane Liam Kindree scored on breakaway 6:07 later to knot things at 1-1 after the first period.

The Canes power play went to work in the second period as Logan Barlage netted his second of the season with seven minutes left in the period and Justin Hall added another man advantage marker 1:25 later for a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

But with time winding down, the hosts went to work.

Galloway scored his first of the night at the 14:31 mark to cut the Hurricanes lead to one and Riley Fiddler-Schultz forced overtime with his third of the season with 2:18 remaining.

Galloway’s overtime tally was his third of the season. He added an assist for a three-point night. Prokop added one helper for a two-point outing.

Hurricanes defenceman Alex Cotton had two assists in the overtime loss.

Hurricanes goaltender Carl Tetachuk stopped 36 of 40 shots, while Hitmen netminder Jack McNaughton turned aside 29 of 32 shots he faced to post the win as Calgary outshot Lethbridge 40-32.

The Hurricanes power play went 2-for-5, while the Hitmen were 0-for-6.

In other WHL play Saturday night, the Moose Jaw Warriors topped the Swift Current Broncos 5-1 in the bubble at the Brandt Centre in Regina. In Red Deer, the Edmonton Oil Kings got past the Red Deer Rebels 3-1

In U.S. Division play, the Portland Winterhawks topped the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 and the Everett Silvertips blanked the Spokane Chiefs 2-0.
