The Lethbridge Bulls have won their second game in a row.
The Bulls downed the Okotoks Dawgs Black 16-10 in Western Canadian Baseball League play Friday night in Okotoks.
With the win, the Bulls improve to 3-1 on the season as they return home to Spitz Stadium at 2:05 p.m. Sunday to face the Dawgs Red, who Lethbridge edged 3-2 Wednesday night at Spitz Stadium.
On Friday the Bulls opened up a 5-1 lead after five innings before plating six runs in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh to pull away.
The Dawgs didn’t go quietly with a six-run inning of their own in the seventh and two more in their half of the ninth.
Bulls right fielder Carlin Dick was 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI.
Lethbridge designated hitter Brad Goodwin was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBI.
Goodwin now has five RBI on the season.
Hitting leadoff, Bulls shortstop Mike Fitzsimmons was three-for-6 with one run scored and three RBI, while centre fielder Josh Kabayama also had a three-hit night, going 3-for-5 with one run scored and two RBI.
Third baseman Liam Vulcano was 2-for-5 with one run scored and three RBI.
Bulls starter Anson McGorman took the win for Lethbridge. He pitched three innings, giving up one run on two hits, walking three and striking out seven.
Dawgs starting pitcher Seth Thompson took the loss for Okotoks, going two innings and allowing three runs on three hits, walking three and striking out two.
