Kodiaks athletics ready to charge into 2021-22 season

By Lethbridge Herald on July 29, 2021.

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks are back.

Kodiaks athletics returns with a roar for the 2021 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference season after losing the 2020 campaign to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Kodiaks soccer teams will kick it off on the road Sept. 17 as they travel to Red Deer to take on the Kings and Queens to begin their six-game regular season. The Kodiaks mens team gets set to defend their first ACAC title in program history, while the women’s team hopes to build on their provincial bronze medal.

The Kodiaks cross country team also begins their season in September, while the Kodiaks basketball and volleyball teams return to the court in November.

Indoor track begins its season in January.

The futsal season will begin in 2022, with the schedule still to be determined.

“This is the big payoff for our student-athletes,” said Todd Caughlin, manager of Kodiaks Athletics in a release. “They have worked so hard to stay in shape, to keep their competitive edge and to excel in their academics during this past year of no competition and I know they are thrilled to return to action. Our entire college community can’t wait to cheer them on as the Kodiaks roar once again.”

The Kodiaks 2021-22 schedule is available at gokodiaks.ca.
