Stringer earns free agent invite to Wild camp

By Lethbridge Herald on September 2, 2021.

Shortly after his trade to the Regina Pats earlier this month, Zack Stringer got some more hockey news.

The Lethbridge product and former member of the Lethbridge Hurricanes was given a free agent camp invite by the Minnesota Wild.

Stringer is one of five Pats headed to NHL training camps.

Joining him is Drew Englot (Edmonton Oilers), Ryker Evans (Seattle Kraken), Logan Nijhoff (Anaheim Ducks) and Stanislav Svozil (Columbus Blue Jackets).

Stringer, 18, was listed by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft after scoring five goals and 14 points in 23 games with the Canes in the shortened 2021 WHL campaign, but wasn’t drafted.

The six-foot, 170-pound left winger had 11 goals and 34 points in 48 games with the Hurricanes in 2019-20.

Stringer was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the first round and eighth overall in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
