Kodiaks cross country running team wraps up season at Nationals

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks cross country running teams finished with some strong performances on the national stage to wrap up the season.

The Kodiaks men’s and women’s teams were at St. Mary’s University in Calgary for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Nationals Saturday.

The men’s team placed ninth overall as Reggie Williams took 17th with an 8km time of 27:17. Carter Van Roon placed 39th overall in a strong field with a time of 28:48, while Logan Danyluk (29:33) and Cole Herbert (30:08) rounded out the scoring, finishing 42nd and 48th respectively.

Justin Fisher posted a time of 30:25 to take 50th and Jack Bentley ran a time of 30:41, taking 52nd.

On the women’s side, veteran Rosie Bouchard paced the Kodiaks with a 30th place finish, crossing the line in the 6km race with a time of 26:19. Teammate Maria Boix-Frias finished 34th (26:40), while Sydney Crowe (45th at 27:06) and Kayla Munro (61st, 29:08) rounded out the scoring as Lethbridge placed 13th. Natasha McGraw ran a time of 37:02 to take 70th.

The Kodiaks now prepare for the ACAC indoor track season beginning in January.
