One winning streak came to an end and another continued as the Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams hit the court in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference play last weekend.

The Kodiaks women’s basketball team had their nine-game winning streak snapped with two losses to the St. Mary’s Lightning. The Kodiaks were defeated 71-65 Friday night at the Val Matteotti Gymnasium and 59-57 Saturday in Calgary and are now 10-3. That puts them second in the South Division, two points back of the 11-1 Lightning.

The Kodiaks men ran their winning streak to seven games and improved to 11-2 and first in the South thanks to 95-64 and 75-69 wins over the Lightning.

In volleyball, the Kodiaks women’s and men’s teams each went 1-1 in Calgary against the SAIT Trojans.

The women are now 8-4 and in second place in the South, while the men are 8-5 and tied for third in the South.
