The Lethbridge Hurricanes got revenge on the Edmonton Oil Kings with a 5-1 win Sunday afternoon at Rogers Place.

The road win comes on the heels of a 5-2 loss to the same Edmonton squad on Friday night at the Enmax Centre.

After letting the first goal in 16 seconds into the game to the Oil Kings’ Jalen Luypen, Hurricanes goalie Bryan Thomson shut the door on Edmonton the rest of the way and stopped 38 shots.

The Hurricanes would score five unanswered goals in the second from Brayden Edwards , Alex Thacker scored his 10th of the season , Logan Wormald scored his 10th  goal, Yegor Klavdiev notched his 16th of the campaign and Chase Pauls would conclude the offensive onslaught  with his fifth marker of the year.

Shots were 39-18 in favour of the Oil Kings.

Lethbridge went 1-for-4 on the powerplay and Edmonton went 0-for-5

The Hurricanes improve their record to 27-29-3-1 on the season.

Up next for the Hurricanes is a home game versus the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday night (7 p.m.) at the Enmax Centre.
