Magrath bucking bull Happy Camper is down in Texas preparing for his fifth appearance at the 2022 PBR (Professional Bull Riding) World Finals in Fort Worth.

Happy Camper is owned by Josh Berezay and  wife Tamara of Two Bit Bucking Bulls.

“It’s always special,” said Josh.

“We’ve done it seven times with five different animals. But this animal here — this is the fifth time — so pretty special for him.”

The Berezay’s got the phone call a couple of weeks ago.

Berezay says they exercise him every day.

“They’re professional athletes,” he said.

“So, we treat him like that. Every bull on our place gets exercised and gets fed the best feed we can provide it.”

The Berezays learned from the previous four trips to the PBR World Finals that Happy Camper has a big heart.

“He’s got  a big heart and he’s been across Canada from one ocean to the other,” said Josh.

“And to Las Vegas to Fort Worth, Texas and he’s never disappointed.”

The three Canadian bulls were hauled by Josh down to the event.

“We stop of course and let them off and they can rest on good grounds and spend the night and we feed them up, water them up, load them up and do it again the next day,” he said.

Berezey said the PBR always has great facilities for the bulls.

“The water bucket is always full, they’ve got nice pens and then they’re exercised every day,” he said.

If riders ride Happy Camper, it’s for a big score, he says.

“It’ll be anywhere from 88 to 90 points; so he’s a good one,” said Berezay.

The Berezay’s have cherished the friendships along the way.

“So it’s fun to be around good solid people,” he said.

“It’s good for your kids. It’s just a great lifestyle.”

Happy Camper weighs 1,500 pounds and was born in the Two Bit Bucking Bulls yard.

“We’ve watched him do amazing things,” he said.

“He’s eight-years-old now. So he’s like another kid to us. He likes the loving on him and he has his moments where he likes that and he’s got other ones where you betster just give him his space.”

He won’t compete until May 20 and if successful will make the finals on May 22.

Happy Camper has won a couple of Canadian titles and was PBR’s  Bucking Bull of Canada for 2018 and 2021.
