The Lethbridge Bulls fall to 0-2 on the season after losing 11-8 to the Sylvan Lake Gulls on Friday night at Spitz Stadium.

After a scoreless first inning, it was the Gulls who found the scoreboard first in the top half of the second inning as Tyler McWillie  took a Joseph Sinclair offering over the right-centre field fence to make the game 1-0 for the visitors.

The Bulls had a productive fourth inning to tie the game up as Lethbridge’s Kyle Turner advanced to first base on a fielder’s choice, while Nick Gravel advanced to third and Tyler Vivier touched home plate.

However, the Gulls would get two runs back as Jackson Clemett scored on a sacrifice fly and Noah Hull scored on a wild pitch in the sixth inning.

The Bulls left two runners stranded in the bottom of the sixth and had two hits.

After a walk, a ground out and three players hit by a pitch,  Clemett jaunted into home plate  to make the score 4-1 in the seventh inning.

McWillie would hit a sacrifice fly to score Cleary Simpson and pad Sylvan Lake’s lead to 5-1 before the seventh inning stretch.

The Gulls would add two more in the eighth as Clemett hit a double to score Hull and the team’s sixth run of the night.

Simpson hit a single to score Clemett and make the score 7-1.

Sylvan Lake’s eighth run in the eight inning came courtesy of Simpson on a two out double from Matty Fung.

Turner of the  Bulls would double in the bottom of the eighth to score Nick Gravel and get Lethbridge’s second run of the night.

The visitors tacked on three more runs in the top of ninth, while the Bulls would score six  runs in the bottom of the ninth.
