Elks split first two games in Montana

The Lethbridge American Legion Elks baseball team split their first two American conference games on Friday.

The Elks lost the opener 8-6 to the Kalispell Lakers.

Elks’ pitcher Shaye McTavish took the loss, while on the offensive side of the ball,  Luc Puszkar went  two-for-three at the dish with a two-run home run and Sam Hilgerson had two hits and a double.

Lethbridge would get redemption in the second game with a 3-2 win.

Hilgerson walked it off in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Jaxon Filipenko threw a complete game with three hits and five strikeouts.

The Elks are back in action today and tomorrow in Billings.

Lethbridge opened conference play with a 13-3 loss against Medicine Hat in the first game and a 7-0 win in the second game  on June 25.
