Current Lethbridge amateur wrestling association and LCI wrestler Payton Shields and Lethbridge product Angelina Ellis-Toddington were in Niagara this past week at the Canada Summer Games and both contributed to Alberta capturing the bronze medal in the team competition.

In the individual competition, Shields ended up placing seventh in her category with a fantastic finish against the athlete from Newfoundland. Ellis-Toddington went undefeated winning the gold medal. Ellis-Toddington is now heading to Sofia, Bulgaria to represent Team Canada in the U20 World Championships fresh off her gold medal performance at the Canada Summer Games in Niagra Falls. Ellis-Toddington also represented Canada in Oaxtepec, Mexico at the Pan Am Championships in July, taking home the bronze medal.
