Local AA hockey weekend wrap up

Three Lethbridge AA teams were in action on the South Central Alberta Hockey League docket this weekend.

The U15 AA Hurricanes were ousted 4-3 by the Red Deer Steel Kings on Friday night at the Henderson Ice Centre.

The Steel Kings got out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Matthew Morrow and Ethan Leenstra.

The Canes got two of their own back in the second period to tie the game as Kutcher Aquila and Maddox Torrance scored.

Lethbridge took a 3-2 lead in the third as Dawson Spence found the back of the net.

However, Red Deer scored two  goals  in the third period over a minute a part to secure the win.

The U18 AA’s beat Red Deer 7-4 on Saturday at Henderson arena.

John Rodie Owen Pickens and Lucas Alexander scored two each, while Grady Vadenhoek, Cooper McAulay and Brett Hudey had single goals each in the win

The U16AA played Sunday at the Logan Boulet Arena but no score was posted on SCAHL’s website.
