Hurricanes down Moose Jaw Warriors

The Hurricanes beat the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors 4-1 on Wednesday evening at the Enmax Centre.

Canes Hayden Smith opened the scoring with an unassisted goal mid-way through the opening period. That was followed 4:40 later with a powerplay goal by Blake Swetlikoff.

Anton Astashevich made it 3-0 5:35 seconds into the second period before the Warriors would finally get on the board, as Atley Calvert scored on the powerplay.

Joe Arntsen grabbed an empty net goal to finish out the night for the Hurricanes victory.

The Canes put 33 shots on Moose Jaw’s goal, while the home team faced 36 shots as Hurricanes goaltender Bryan Thomson earned his 50th career win.

The Hurricanes welcome the Regina Pats Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Enmax Centre.
