Both University of Lethbridge Pronghorns soccer teams started their longest road trips of the seasons with mixed results over the weekend.

The men’s team moved to one game over .500 with a record of 3-2-4 after opening their six game road trip with a 2-1 win over the Fraser Valley Cascades on Friday and a 1-1 tie with UNBC on Sunday.

The Horns’ next action will be this Saturday at the University of Calgary Dinos beginning at noon and at the Mount Royal University Cougars on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, U of L’s women’s team dropped to 1-8 on the season after dropping a 4-2 decision to the TRU Wolfpack on Friday and losing to the UBCO Heat 5-1 on Sunday to open up their five game road trip.

The lady Horns will head east this weekend to Saskatchewan to play the University of Saskatchewan Huskies on Saturday at 2 p.m. and on Sunday face the University of Reging Cougars at noon.

U of L’s rugby team lost the first leg of the Suggitt Cup against the University of Alberta Pandas 38-21 on Saturday at Community Sports Stadium.

The Suggitt Cup is played in honour of the former Horns coach Rick Suggitt, who passed away in 2017 and the games are played between the two teams with the winner determined by a two-game total aggregate points.

The rugby team is next in action tomorrow at UBC.

 Kodiaks

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s soccer team defeated the Medicine Hat College Rattlers 2-1 to improve their record to a perfect 4-0 on the season.
