U18AAA Hurricanes split weekend games

Local AAA teams were in Alberta Elite Hockey League action over the Thanksgiving weekend.

U18AAA

The Hurricanes U18AAA team split their games up north over the weekend.

Lethbridge opened up the trip with a 7-4 win over the Lloydminster Lancers on Saturday

The Hurricanes had seven different goal scorers in the win including Kayson Christian, Garrett Janzen, Aidyn Law, Alex Westlund, Dayton Tailfeathers, Dekkam Dallas and Rylan Ng

Lethbridge lost 3-2 in overtime to the Sherwood Park Ennis Kings on Sunday.

Hayden Iron Shirt and Aidyn Law scored in the loss for the Canes.

Next up for the U18AA squad is a home game against the Okotoks Bow Mark Oilers on Friday night at 7:15 p.m. at Nicholas Sheran Arena and then hit the road Sunday for a game in Calagry against the Northwest Flames.

 U17AAA

The Headwater Hurricanes dropped both of their games to start the season.

Lethbridge travelled to Medicine Hat on Friday and lost 7-2 to the SEAC Tigers.

Kaden Stengler and Oliver LeGrandeur scored the goals for the Hurricanes.

It didn’t get much better for the Hurricanes as they were trounced 9-0 by the Calgary NWCAA Flames on Saturday.

The Headwater Hurricanes will host the Calgary Royals in their home opener at the Logan Boulet Arena on Saturday at 3 p.m. and the Okotoks Oilers on Sunday at 11:45 a.m.
