The road woes continued for the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday night as they dropped a 4-1 decision to the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Roger McQueen opened the scoring for Brandon 12:18 into the first period from Matteo Michels and Brett Hyland.

Lethbridge product Rylen Roersma made it 2-0 for the Wheat Kings with 25 seconds to go in the first period.

Hyland and Luke Shipley assisted on the Roersma’s 18th goal of the year.

Brandon made the score 3-0 at the 6:11 mark of the second period when Jayden Wiens scored his 16th goal of the campaign from Nolan Flamand and Rhett Ravndahl.

The Canes Miguel Marques cut into the Wheat Kings lead with a goal at the 9:44 mark of the middle frame from Logan Wormald.

Roersma would seal the Brandon victory with an empty-net goal with three seconds to go in the game from Hyland.

Final shots were 36-22 in favour of Brandon and each team went 0-for-1 on the powerplay.

Lethbridge has now dropped five consecutive road games and are now 0-3 on this current four game road trip.

The Canes will look to salvage a win on this trip when they head to Swift Current to take on the Broncos on Wednesday night.
