The Lethbridge Bulls staved off elimination with a 5-4 Game 2 win over the Okotoks Dawgs on Thursday night at Spitz Stadium.
The Bulls got the go ahead run in the eighth inning when Carlin Dick scored on a wild pitch.
The scoring got going right away in the first inning.
Brendan Luther of the Dawgs slid past the tag of Bulls pitcher Drew Lenehan at home plate to open the scoring in the first inning and give Okotoks an early 1-0 lead.
Tyler Munroe then came up in the bottom of the first inning and hit a two-run home run to give Lethbridge a 2-1 lead.
Luther tied the game for the Dawgs in the top of the third inning when he scored on a bases loaded single by Tucker Zdunich.
Okotoks would take the lead in the same inning when a Nash Crowell single with the bases loaded scored Ricardo Sanchez to give the Dawgs a 3-2 lead.
The Bulls tied the game in the bottom of the third when a fielder’s choice by Scott Hansen scored Josh Kabayama.
The Dawgs took the lead in the top of the sixth when an Alejandro Cazorla sacrifice fly scored Logan Grant.
Munroe tied the game on a Jack Kalisky single in the bottom of the sixth inning with nobody out.
The decisive Game 3 in this Western Canadian Baseball League division semi-final playoff series is tonight back in Okotoks at 7:05 p.m.
The winner will face the Sylvan Lake Gulls in the Western Division final.
Sylvan Lake swept Brooks in two straight games.
