The Lethbridge Hurricanes took seven of possible eight points from their four-game road trip after a 5-1 win over the Regina Pats on Saturday night.
Chase Petersen converted a one-timer from Logan McCutcheon 10:39 into the first period to give the Canes a 1-0 lead.
Leo Braillard then took a pass from Shane Smith and his quick shot found the back of the net 4:45 into the second period to give the Canes a 2-0 lead.
Brayden Yager also assisted on Braillard’s 24th goal of the year.
Braxton Whitehead backhanded in his eighth goal of the year from Jace Egland and Julien Maze 15:07 into the second period to cut the Canes lead to 2-1.
Tristen Doyle restored the Canes two-goal lead on the powerplay 4:47 into the third period from McCutcheon and Smith.
Brayden Edwards’ wrist shot in the slot on the powerplay found the back of the net just under a minute later to give Lethbridge a 4-1 lead.
Yager and Logan Wormald assisted on Edwards 27th goal of the year.
Noah Chadwick’s high slot shot found its way to the top corner 11:43 into the third period to give the Canes a 5-1 lead.
Lethbridge outshot Regina 34-18 in the win and went 2-for-6 on the powerplay.
The Canes (38-19-2-2) start a six-game homestand when they host the Kelowna Rockets on Wednesday night.
