NorthStars clip Golden Hawks twice

The Val Matteotti Golden Hawks 15AAA hockey team were clipped twice by the Calgary NorthStars over the weekend.

The NorthStars blitzed Lethbridge 8-1 on Friday and blanked them 4-0 on Sunday.

Liam Cowie scored the only Golden Hawk goal while Chase Nielson stopped 45-of-53 NorthStar shots on Friday.

Nielson stopped 39-of-42 NorthStar shots on Sunday.

Calgary outshot Lethbridge 43-28 in the game.

The Golden Hawks finished a point out of a playoff spot with a 9-20-2-3 record.

The Lethbridge Headwater Hurricanes U17 AAA hockey club were downed 4-1 by the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday.

Parker Bishoff scored the lone goal for the Canes in the loss.

Lucas Pasemko stopped 30-of-34 shots in the loss.

Okotoks outshot Lethbridge 34-25.

Lethbridge wraps up the regular season by hosting the Airdrie Avalanche on Saturday and Sunday at Nicholas Sheran Arena.
