4A South Zone basketball semifinals now set

The stage is set for the semi-finals at the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association South Zone 4A Basketball Championships at the University of Lethbridge today.

On the girls side, the LCI Clippers play the Raymond Comets at 4 p.m. and Cardston plays Magrath at 2 p.m.

Cardston defeated Chinook, Raymond defeated Medicine Hat and Magrath defeated Catholic Central in first-round games of the double elimination format on Tuesday.

LCI had a direct bye to the semi-finals

The gold medal game is on Saturday at 4 p.m. at U of L.

The boys side semi-finals will see Medicine Hat play Magrath at 6 p.m. and Raymond play LCI at 8 p.m.

Raymond defeated Catholic Central, LCI beat Chinook and Medicine Hat beat Cardston in Tuesday’s first round games.

Magrath had a bye into the semi-finals.

The gold medal game is at 7 p.m. on Saturday at U of L.

The losing teams from the first round and semi-finals go through the third place bracket today and Friday with that championship going on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the boys and noon for the girls.
