Ada Emard

1925 – 2017

Ada Ruth Emard, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, at the age of 91 years.

Ada was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Clarence, in 2005; her brothers Raymond and Elmer Miller; and her sisters Linda Johnson and Irene Thielen. She is survived by her sister Marion Angyal.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters Terri (Brett) Bowen and their children Kelsie (Steven) Preete and their daughter Kiera and son Colter (Camille) and their daughter Charlotte; Barb (Jeff) Haskett and their daughter Danielle and son Kyle; and her youngest daughter Claire (Stan) Jack and their daughter Jacinda Larson (fiancé Leanne Finch); and son Garrett Larson; and her numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Besides being a stay-at-home mother, Ada was an enthusiastic primary teacher in Alberta, a competent badminton player and later she was a sewer, golfer and camper, but most of all, she was “the best mom ever” according to her daughters.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, May 15, 2017 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 St. St. S., Lethbridge, AB.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at ST. MARTHA’S CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd. W., Lethbridge, AB. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha’s Church. 355 Columbia Blvd. W, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1K 5Y8.

LEONARD “LEN” WILLIAM TETZLOFF, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Sunday, May 7, 2017 after a seven-month illness at the age of 88 years.

A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Bob Wallace officiating.

Following the Memorial Service, Len will be laid to rest in the Mountain View Cemetery.

MRS. CAROL TOTH, beloved wife of Mr. John Toth of Lethbridge, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, May 11th at the age of 69. Carol was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 14th, 1947.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 33 years John, son Steven Gracey (Asheley Ondrik), step-daughters Barb (Ken) Wolosiuk, Lisa (Terril) McMurray as well as 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and nephew Ralph (Darlene) Kowal and family.

She is now reunited with her beloved daughter Vera.

Carol’s family is grateful for the loving care she received from all the first responders, nurses and doctors over the last few years. A sincere thank-you to Dr. J. Geers and to the staff at St Michael’s.

A “Come and Go” Reception will take place on Saturday, May 20th at the Moose Hall, 1401-5th Avenue North, Lethbridge from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. A private family interment will follow at a later date.

Berendina Van Hell

1927 – 2017

Mrs. Berendina “Diny” Van Hell of Picture Butte passed away in Lethbridge on May 12, 2017 at the age of 89 years.

Diny was born in Barneveld, Holland on June 5, 1927. She worked as a nurse before immigrating to Canada in 1962. She settled in Brandon, Manitoba with her sister and her family. She then moved to Picture Butte when she married Steve in 1963, and became mother to four children and together they had another four sons. Steve and Diny celebrated 50 years of marriage in December 2013. Together they raised their ever growing family and in later years looked forward to spending time with them, always taking a genuine interest in what everyone was doing. The door was always open for family and friends to visit. Her indoor plants and outdoor gardens brought her hours of pleasure, she had a real green thumb. They enjoyed travelling to many parts of North America and around the world, making many trips back to Holland as well. She had a strong faith, a constant smile and a ready laugh.

Diny is survived by her daughter-in-law Annie, daughter MaryLynn (Tony); six sons Ken (Elaine), Fred (Sue), Clarence (Vanessa), Dave (Barb), Edward (Kerri), and Gordon (Erica); thirty grandchildren and twenty nine great-grandchildren; sisters Gerritje and Teunsje, brother Jan, and extended family in Canada & Holland.

Diny was predeceased by husband Steve; eldest son Ralph; her parents Klaas and Jannetje van Donkersgoed and brother Wouter.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 and 8:00pm on Monday, May 15, 2017 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, AB.

A Graveside Service will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at the HUNTSVILLE CEMETERY, 2 kilometers south of Iron Springs, AB.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, Iron Springs, AB with Pastor Frank deBoer, officiating.
