Editor,
King Trump decided we were the fentanyl capital of the world, and suddenly we were! The knee-jerk response: spend $1.3billion as homage to the King.
So once every two to three days you hear a helicopter fly over the same area it had done previously. We need a kazillion helicopters, a kazillion drones and a kazillion sensors!Â
Now, the number “kazillion” would seem to be an exaggeration but its closer to being correct than the number four or nine or 27.
The interesting thing is they are there to guard the U.S. border from the imaginary army of fentanyl that crosses it. Liberals confuse knee jerk with action and through their woke interpretation of their plan, they want you to believe they have a plan.
They send their entourage of listeners to talk with people like Ambassador Howard Lutnick, who has already decided the U.S. should run Canada. Case in point, when Carney announced that we back a two-state solution in Israel-Palestine, Lutnick goes on national TV and immediately laughs and berates Canada for doing it. So he feels he is also entitled to control our foreign policy.Â
The ambassador to Canada from the U.S. is no better, he is deciding that counter tariffs actually started the tariff war.Â
It’s time for Liberals to grow a spine. In the U.S., ICE apparently has 150 Canadians in detention as of this moment.Â
Get up, Mr. Carney, and walk away from any table where you are sitting with Americans, take your entourage with you and tell the Americans we will be back to the table when all Canadians are released.Â
Carney already knows he is playing a symbolic nothing in this negotiation that does not exist. So walk away and stand up for Canada, that’s what you were hired to do!

Once again Dennis proves what a great Reformer he is showing no respect for our children and grandchildren’s future. While 59% of Albertans approve of what Carney is doing and while conservative premier Doug Ford has nothing but praise for what Carney has accomplished to date Dennis finds it smart to blame him for everything just like his pal Danielle Smith does. He sounds like a trained Parrot doesn’t he? Where is the intelligence in that?
All mouth and no brains as my friend would say. A perfect description.
I too am getting tired of Carney being reactive and not putting Trump on notice that Canada is not his play toy to threaten and kick around. Trump only responds like a semi intelligent individual when his citizens and major donors say this is hurting us so reconsider ur stance. We should impose more stringent tariffs instead of having a knee jerk reaction to the dictators latest tweet. I support Carney but wish he was more like Ford on this issue.
Isn’t that exactly what Carney is doing and why Doug Ford is praising him? This is not something that can be done overnight. My American relatives are putting pressure on Trump also which is why he keeps delaying his damaging tactics, isn’t it?
It’s hard to tell if Carney’s rope-a-dope routine will bore Trump into inaction, but it is probably better than what Sparky the snapping Chihuahua would bring. Dennis’s call to arms is very brave, being retired with a secure pension and all. But sometimes, when dealing with a big bully, it’s better just avoiding getting your butt kicked, don’t you think?
We could use this opportunity to begin to develop some self-reliance in a sustainable, simpler (but perhaps healthier and more enjoyable) way? That’s the move I would like to see from Carney.
