It’s only a matter of time before all have to get vaccinated

The federal government has recently announced that they will be making vaccines mandatory for government workers and federally regulated industries, as well as interprovincial travel. I think this mandate is unconstitutional and violates our rights and freedoms as Canadian citizens. It will only be a matter of time before they force everyone to get this vaccine.
The last I checked, I have the freedom of conscience to choose whether or not I want this vaccine. This mandate is not about stopping a pandemic, this is about the government taking more and more control of our lives. So, let me ask your readers: Is this really what we want? How long are we going to let the government tell us to do things that violate our rights and freedoms? It’s time to speak up!
God keep our land glorious and free!

This mandate IS about stopping a pandemic or at the very least, reducing the risk of spread to others. Vaccination is definitely not perfect (no vaccine is) but it does confer enough protection in most individuals to deny severe disease. The more people vaccinated, the better chance the population has of reining in the spread. Contrary to what Shandros and Kenney have stated, we have NOT “crushed” the virus.“Caring for others?” Is that not the Christian way? A little reality check for the writer: The so called 4th way is amongst us NOW and it will get worse , made far worse because of self righteous inward looking people across Canada who feel this is somehow a government initiative to limit our rights and freedoms.
God help Canada indeed . God save us from those who would infringe on our rights to remain healthy.
This variant is dangerous, very dangerous. Buckle up.
Look up the numbers associated with this new wave and check the stats for vaccinated verses un-vaccinated. But perhaps you believe that these numbers are part of some big brother , deep state malignant initiative?
Yesterday a doctor told a friend of mine that this next wave is going to be a real disaster and the people who haven’t been vaccinated, including our grandchildren, are going to be the ones paying for it. Too bad some of these seniors were dumb enough to believe the Kenney lies that it’s over, it’s not.
Can you imagine what would have happened to us if these ignorant seniors had ignored all our past shots to control Polio, Small Pox, Mumps etc.
You know they are seniors we don’t hear our young people being this stupid. My senior friends and I can’t believe how stupid they are. As one of them says “I wonder what it’s like to be that stupid.”
While they blindly support Kenney, and hurl their sarcastic shots at those of us who are smart enough not to , they are giving us seniors a bad rap.
I had a young man ask me if I was one of those stupid seniors who helped elect Kenney, like his grandparents did. It proves what some of them think about us senior and we can all thank these ignorant ones for it.
Out of concern for fellow man and respect for other’s well being, does anyone believe that Jesus would take the vaccine?
Carina: Just to set the record straight, the government is not FORCING you to get the vaccine. All governments in Canada have stated that it is still your choice to refuse the vaccine. If you refuse to be vaccinated though, then you will or may be restricted from certain travel and perhaps not be able to work in certain places such as government positions or government controlled industries. What these rules do is protect the freedoms of those that choose to be vaccinated and be protected from people such as yourself that may spread, not only the COVID-19 virus but also other diseases that you might carry as you MAY be against all vaccines. One thing I always find with self-serving people such as yourself, is you want us to respect your rights and freedoms but NEVER think of others whom also want their rights and freedoms protected from people like yourself. Perhaps you could go into a quiet corner and meditate or talk to your God and ask for some guidance on how to respect and care for your fellow human beings.
