A letter to Mr. Neudorf, MLA for East Lethbridge and current UCP member. I have become quite jaded by the direction the current government is heading.
In your column on Saturday, Oct. 12, you stated, “It is an honour to represent you in the Alberta Legislature. The work I do in government is deeply informed by the trust and support I receive from this community. Your confidence allows me to advocate for Lethbridge’s needs and champion the causes that matter to most of you.”
Well great. Then you should be advocating very strongly against any and all development in the Eastern Slopes of the Canadian Rockies.
On Feb. 2 2021, you wrote the following and it was posted under Nathan Neudorf:
Letter to Constituents About Recent News Surrounding Coal Mining.
“I have also heard very clearly that people in Lethbridge are not interested in further coal mining on the eastern slopes and want their water protected – particularly for our agricultural and food corridor – and I will represent that position in Legislature.”
OK, stand up to your words and advocate that the AER review be stopped.
Listen to the people who voted you in and do what is right for Albertans, not the UCP agenda.

No hope of getting through to him, he is a stooge for Danielle Smith and the agenda of an Australian owned world-wide mining company. Big $$$ ?
What , the MLA’s of the eastern slope not worth attacking, lol. Find your lane.
‘Daft’ is a good word to describe you.
It’s no secret that Reformers deliberately destroy everything good that conservatives have created for the good of the people. They had no business destroying the protection Conservatives under Lougheed had put on our water supply and the idiots who are blindly supporting them need to wake up.
With their pal Pierre Poilievre it’s the carbon tax and CBC both created by conservatives for the good of the people. Are Albertans going to be smart enough to kick her out or are the mindless seniors supporting her go to let her treat them like morons? Once again she is wasting taxpayers money on the Carbon Tax that oil executives wanted implemented.
Of course, this illustrates how our MLA is a lapdog to the lunatic fringe, more worried about chemtrails, the definition of carbon dioxide, and whether Trudeau wears boxers or briefs, than about our longterm health and prosperity.
The point is that the empty promise of jobs is being valorized over real jobs in agriculture. Even Bucky might understand that water contaminated with selenium will impact soil fertility for irrigators and exceed safe limits for drinking water, as it already does in Sparwood.
Coal mining in the eastern slopes is a bad idea. The joint federal/provincial assessment says this project is not in the public interest. The life cycle economics are negative (that is, if the Australian company were to actually mitigate pollution and clean up afterward, which they won’t).
I agree with the letter writer. Mr. Neudorf should be representing our interests. He is not.
I am not sure if you are aware, but that coalmining project is not in the Lethbridge East consituency, first of all and second, it is not in his Ministry, that responsibility falls under the “Minister of Energy and Minerals” in Alberta, who currently is Brian Jean.
You are using old information going back 3 years and 8 months, Feb 2021.
Nathan Neudorf is one of Alberta’s hardest working MLA’s and for the last 3 years his office has had to look after the Lethbridge West riding constituent’s concerns because the Lethbridge West office has been closed for 3 years. Most concerns were given to Nathan Neuforf’s Lethbridge East office, causing a considerable amount of extra work for that office.
That coal mining project is in every constituency that will be receiving its tainted water.
