Trump using pandemic for promotion?

According to several reports, President Trump is insisting that his signature appear on the cheques to individuals that are part of the massive stimulus package just passed by the U.S. Congress. One has to wonder if the White House spin doctors haven’t rebranded the coronavirus pandemic “The Promotion,” if only for internal purposes.
